(United States of America) This is a Stanford Health Care job. A
Brief Overview The Senior Construction Manager is primarily
responsible for advocating Stanford Health Cares interests by
over-seeing construction, executed by a general contractor, during
all phases of construction. Extensive knowledge of both new
construction and renovation practices is required. The Senior
Construction Manager oversees multiple projects at once and
communicates directly with the management team. The Senior
Construction Manager is responsible for ensuring completion of
construction projects within budget, on schedule, meeting all
program objectives and applicable regulations while providing
leadership, coordination and support to Project and Construction
Managers, and construction trades specific to a construction
project. Locations Stanford Health Care What you will do Employees

licensure and health screenings. Ensures the completion of
construction within budget, on schedule, and meets all program
objectives and appropriate government regulations. Implements
quality control measures to ensure construction project compliance
with department, hospital, and university policies, government
codes and regulations; also ensures conformance to the requirements
of all project participants. Manages communications on a regular
and timely basis, ensuring that all project participants are
informed of project status, problems, and required actions. Manages
the selection process and contract negotiations for contractors,
and construction related vendors. Manages, assesses, and documents
construction scope, describing the objectives, physical
requirements, parameters, and constraints of the project, including
not only the users functional needs but also hospital and external
jurisdictional criteria for health and safety, operation,
maintenance, energy efficiency, quality standards, contextual
issues, and aesthetics. Prepares and maintains accurate, coherent,
timely, and auditable project records/files, and cost estimates
with department procedures. Provides leadership, coordination, and
support to the Project Managers and all the construction trades
specific to a construction project. Education Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in a work-related field or discipline from an
accredited college or university. Any combination of education and
experience that would likely provide the required knowledge, skills
and abilities as well as possession of any required licenses or
certifications is qualifying Experience Qualifications Minimum of
seven (7) years of directly related work experience and level of
responsibility in a comparable role. Preferred experience of ten
plus (10) years. Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Ability
to establish and maintain effective relationships with widely
diverse groups, including: individuals at senior levels both within
and outside the organization and gain their cooperation. Ability to
handle potentially sensitive situations by applying consultative
skills in working with internal and external constituent groups.
Ability to plan, organize, motivate, mentor, direct and evaluate
the work of others. Ability to prioritize work by making informed
judgments and to develop solutions for complex problems. Ability to
work within a regulated environment such as a hospital to ensure
adherence to the policies and procedures of the facility including
but not limited to: infection control procedures, utility shutdown
procedures, etc. Demonstrate commitment to personal responsibility
and value for safety, communicates safety concerns, uses and
promotes safe behaviors based in training and lessons learned.
Ability to review plans and specifications for constructability,
quality, code compliance, and budget. Ability to review contracts
for services to be performed prior to execution, negotiate terms
and conditions, and enforce contract provisions. Ability to
determine entitlement and negotiate any change order or potential
change order for a project. Ability to resolve disputes and or
claims that may occur. Ability to budget, make financial
projections and write reports. Ability to work with and create CPM
schedules. Knowledge of managing projects in CPMS environments.
Knowledge of technical, professional and business practices in the
fields of healthcare delivery, architecture, construction, and
building design process. Knowledge of legal, technical and

starting at $83.98 - $111.27 per hour The salary of the finalist
selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors,
including but not limited to, internal equity, experience,
education, specialty and training. This pay scale is not a promise
of a particular wage.
