Language: $2.00 per hour Overnight/Graveyard - Stay Awake Shifts:
$1.00 per hour Overview: Provides direct oversight, supervision and
care for each individual child in the residential setting and in
the field, under supervision of the Program Supervisor and/or
Program Director by performing the following duties: Provides
cross-setting care and supervision as well as interventions to
youth aimed at stabilizing their behavior(s) and teach functional
skills that enable the youth to mitigate the behaviors identified
as reasons for placement in the residential treatment facility so
that the youth can quickly return to and live in the community, in
a family setting. Night-time childcare workers will remain awake
during the complete shift and follow all night shift procedures.
Bed checks every 5-15 minutes as required by licensing, and all
other duties as per job description. Key Responsibilities: Assists
in the implementation of plans for the supervision, care and
treatment of children and youth to meet the programmatic and
treatment objectives both in residential treatment and the
community. Implements care and supervision interventions that cross
treatment settings (this includes supervision and care in-home and,
in the community, while the child is practicing skills and
behaviors required for her/him to live outside the residential
facility) later successfully. Assists youth and families with
activities including but not limited to community linkage,
transportation, visitation, activities of daily living, education,
and life skills acquisition. Monitors interaction and behaviors to
provide daily structure, natural and logical consequences, and
appropriate nurturing. Qualifications: TSC I: An individual who has
less than two (2) years of FTE experience in mental health related
field providing direct mental health services. TSC II: An
individual who has at least two (2) years but less than four years
of FTE experience in a mental health related field providing direct
mental health services. TSC III: An individual who has at least
four (4) years of full-time/equivalent (FTE) experience in a mental
health related field proving direct mental health services. Up to
two (2) years of the four (4) years of experience can be s
substituted by years of education * in a mental health-related
field or by completion of the County Core Skills Training. There
are a minimum requirement of two (2) years of actual work
experience. *The education requirement must be a minimum of two (2)
years of education (60 semester or 90 quarter units) with a minimum
of 12 semesters (18 quarter) units in mental health-related subject
areas such as child development, social work, human behavior,
rehabilitation, psychology, or alcohol and drug counseling. TSC IV,
V, VI: An Individual who has Associates degree 6 years experience;
Bachelors degree 4 years experience, or Masters degree 2 years
experience in a mental health related field &/or working with
at-risk youth in a residential or mental health setting. Conditions
of Employment: Must be 21 years of age. Must possess a valid CA
Drivers License, current auto insurance, and a clean DMV printout
(no more than 3 points). Must pass a clear background check with
DOJ, CACI, FBI, CCL. CPR and First Aid Certified. TB Exam and
Physical at the time of employment. This position may work within
ALL other agency programs, consistent with their scope of practice,
on a as needed basis. In addition, may require occasional flexible
work schedule to meet the individualized needs of each client.
Employees with direct responsibility for children who are under 18
years of age or who are not emancipated from the foster care system
and who, in either case, are receiving 24 hour residential care,
and employees of 24 hour residential care facilities for the
elderly, blind or developmentally disabled individuals may be
required to work on-duty meal periods without penalty when
necessary to meet regulatory or approved program standards and one
of the following two conditions is met: The residential care
employees eats with residents during residents' meals and the
employer provides the same meal at no charge to the employee; or An
employee, except for the night shift, may exercise the right to
have an off-duty meal period upon 30 days' notice to the employer
for each instance where an off-duty meal is desired, provided that,
there shall be no more than one off-duty meal period every two
weeks. Driving Requirement: This position requires the use of a
personal vehicle for business purposes and on-call rotation. Other
Requirements: Driving is a required function of this position.
Employees must use a personal vehicle that meet all agency
requirements, including maintaining liability insurance that meets
or exceeds state requirements. Employees are responsible for
ensuring the timely renewal of their vehicle insurance policies and
providing updated documentation to the agency to remain in good
standing and compliant with position requirements. On-Call
Rotation: Employees will participate in the on-call rotation for
the program. Employees must commit to at least one weekend per
month. Employees will be required to sign an on-call agreement.
Training Provided: RCS provides an in-depth onboarding and training
orientation, which includes CPR/First Aid, Crisis
Communication/Pro-ACT, Trauma-Informed Care, Motivational
Interviewing, Collaborative Problem Solving, introductions to all
RCS departments, and other valuable trainings. Benefits:
