We’re seeking a Director of Patient Identification Programs responsible for designing, operationalizing, leading, and scaling enterprise-wide patient identification strategies that enable timely diagnosis, and access to approved therapies. This role sits at the intersection of commercial strategy, data science, medical affairs, clinical development, and external partnerships, and plays a critical role in accelerating patient journeys towards diagnosis and treatment. The Director will design, build, and manage a portfolio of innovative patient identification initiatives, leveraging real-world data, diagnostic pathways, digital tools, and healthcare ecosystem partnerships to identify, educate, and connect eligible patients to appropriate genetic testing, clinical programs, or treatments. Responsibilities Strategy & Leadership Develop and execute a comprehensive patient identification strategy aligned with commercial launch and pipeline priorities, disease areas, and corporate objectives. Serve as the enterprise subject-matter expert on patient identification, diagnostic pathways, and unmet diagnostic needs. Lead and mentor cross-functional contributors to patient identification programs. Program Design & Execution Design and operationalize patient identification programs focused on (pre-)commercial stage and – to a lesser extent – clinical stage programs. Leverage initiatives such as diagnostic algorithms, EHR-based identification, biomarker screening, genetic testing programs, and referral pathways. Ensure programs are scalable, compliant, and adaptable across geographies and indications. Cross-Functional Collaboration Partner closely with Commercial, Medical Affairs, Data Science, Market Access, Regulatory, Legal/Compliance, Clinical Development teams Align patient identification efforts with launch readiness plans Provide strategic input into evidence generation and disease education initiatives Data & Analytics Leverage real-world data (claims, EHR, genomics, registries) to identify patient populations and optimize identification approaches Define success metrics, dashboards, and KPIs to measure program impact and inform continuous improvement Translate data insights into actionable recommendations for internal stakeholders External Partnerships Build and manage relationships with diagnostic companies, health systems, laboratories, advocacy groups, digital health vendors, and data partners Evaluate and onboard innovative technologies and vendors to enhance patient identification capabilities Represent the company externally as a thought leader in patient identification and rare disease diagnosis Governance & Compliance Ensure all programs adhere to applicable regulatory, privacy, and compliance requirements (e.g., HIPAA, GDPR, promotional regulations) Partner with Legal and Compliance to design ethical, patient-centric programs that prioritize trust and transparency Who You Are Advanced degree (PhD, MD, PharmD, MPH, MS) or equivalent experience in life sciences, healthcare, or a related field 8–12 years of experience in biopharma, healthcare, diagnostics, or health technology, with significant experience in patient identification and related functions Proven experience designing, building, and operating complex, cross-functional programs and influencing senior stakeholders Strong understanding of diagnostic pathways, rare disease ecosystems, and real-world data sources You have demonstrated curiosity and adaptability in adopting AI-powered tools and technologies Preferred Experience in rare disease, precision medicine, or genetically defined conditions Familiarity with digital health tools, advanced analytics, and AI-enabled identification approaches Experience working with external partners and vendors in a highly regulated environment Key Competencies Strategic thinking and execution excellence Strong leadership and stakeholder influence Data-driven decision making Comfort with ambiguity in fast-moving, early-stage environments Patient-centric mindset and high ethical standards Why This Role Matters This role directly impacts patients by reducing time to diagnosis, expanding access to innovative therapies, and ensuring that no eligible patient is overlooked. The Director of Patient Identification Programs is a critical driver of both scientific and human outcomes. Where You'll Work 3x per week in our San Francisco Office/Palo Alto Office At BridgeBio, we strive to provide a market-competitive total rewards package, including base pay, an annual performance bonus, company equity, and generous health benefits. Below is the anticipated salary range for candidates for this role who will work in California. The final salary offered to a successful candidate will depend on several factors that may include but are not limited to the type and length of experience within the job, type, and length of experience within the industry, educational background, location of residence and performance during the interview process. BridgeBio is a multi-state employer, and this salary range may not reflect positions based in other states.
