Introduction
IBM North America Storage is currently seeking a Storage Sales Technical Representative to sell exclusively FlashSystem Solutions. This position will be responsible for growing revenue of the IBM FlashSystem solutions through one large IBM Business Partner with a focus on increasing IBM's presence in Small and Medium Businesses. This role is a Subject Matter Expert seller position who will sell directly to end-user customers, train and co-sell with an IBM Business Partner and the IBM Sales team.
This FlashSystem Technical Sales Rep will also give guidance and support to the entire ecosystem including local IBM Marketing, Offering Management, Channel, and Storage Sales resources.

Your Role and Responsibilities
Key Responsibilities:

As a Subject Matter Expert (SME), the FlashSystem Sales Rep. is responsible for maintaining in-depth technical knowledge of the IBM Storage FlashSystem solutions and competitive solutions.
Actively engage with clients to develop the trust and credibility to help them grow their businesses by solving strategic and tactical business problems.
Use business acumen to understand internal and external customer requirements. This includes technical and competitive landscape.
Collaborate with IBM Technical and Services teams to define, design, and detail the aspects and feasibility of FlashSystem offerings.
Work with the technical team to deliver effective Proof of Concept (POC), Proof of Technology (POT), in support of critical situations.
Work with the Business Partner and IBM Sales Teams to develop opportunity pipeline.
Understand FlashSystem Sales Plays, Channel Programs, Sales Team Incentives and effectively leverage them in sales opportunities.
Interact with Channel & Marketing Management to provide feedback on local GEO plays needed to support goals.
Represent coverage area with updated pipeline coverage, deal creation/progression and requirements and actions needed to achieve growth.

  • Skilled in provocative consultative selling with ability to articulate an understanding of the client's needs and match with IBM capabilities.
  • Be commercially minded and capable of supporting end-to-end sales engagements with the ability to think, plan and act strategically
  • Self-starter with eagerness to seek and build new skills
  • Demonstrated Business/Territory development success
    Required Technical and Professional Expertise
    • At least 4 years' experience in customer-facing IT Sales
    • At least 3 years' experience selling storage hardware and/or software products with a solid technical knowledge of IBM Storage products and/or competitive products
      Preferred Technical and Professional Expertise
      • At least 4 years' experience in IT Storage Solution technical sales
      • Deep understanding of IBM Storage FlashSystem solutions and competitive storage products
      • Competitive experience in Cloud and Storage
