Job Description:

Sama is looking for a trailblazing sales leader who can manage and build a sales team that is expanding a disruptive technology in the exciting Computer Vision space. As our VP of Sales, you will initially lead a team of 6 AEs Globally that will soon scale to 20+ by end of 2021. You will take responsibility for our brand new industry verticals (pods) that will be carved away from our Strategic Sales team but represents our most important growth trajectory. This role has global responsibilities as our teams aren't based on regions but centered around industries.-- You will be responsible for building a sales pipeline to meet forecasts and goals as well as expand on our newly formed industry-based pods. You will also work with the product and leadership teams to define strategic opportunities for growth. We are looking for someone who has a strong leadership philosophy to build and develop a team of dynamic sales reps that will be driving Sama's newest industry verticals.-- You will hire, coach, and retain top talent as revenue grows. You'll maintain and develop operational rigor by implementing effective and repeatable sales processes to successfully scale our business. You'll also work closely with your team to strategize deal negotiation, identify obstacles and inefficiencies, and implement new sales initiatives to increase organizational efficiency.
-- Key Responsibilities:--

  • Enhance our new outbound sales motion which centers around consistent growth of the sales funnel, comprehensive understanding of stage by stage success motions, and properly manage complex pricing discussions
  • Strong fundamentals of persona-based selling and map all buying behavior into a repeatable process--
  • A firm grasp on modern sales tools, such as Outreach, Gong, Intricately and Vidyard
  • Daily use of Salesforce to document all accounts, customers, and opportunities that inform a highly detailed forecast process--
  • Actively participate in the quarterly and weekly meetings and become an SME in Sama's platform
  • Take a vested interest in the Machine Learning landscape, enough to carry on value-based conversations with the data science community--
  • You will have a large sales number, with each Senior AE carrying a $2M annual quota
  • Take the lead in customer calls when necessary, where you're not needed on every call (teach to fish) but can enhance the calls that are escalated to you--
  • This role is highly cross-functional with Product, R&D, and Marketing, your ability to manage peer relationships outside of your team is paramount--
  • Become an expert in understanding proper use cases in Computer Vision applied to different industries
  • Have a coaching mentality, our sales environment is centered around making each other better, not just recruiting rock stars--
  • Balance the science of selling with the art of selling and understand that you need both to be successful-- Minimum Qualifications:
    • 5+ years of experience managing high performing sales teams that sell into a technical persona (data science preferred)--
    • Previous experience managing a number that scales past $10M
    • Experience leading high velocity inside and mid-market sales teams
    • High EQ with empathetic/servant leadership style, strong critical thinking skills, adaptable, and able to thrive in a mission/purpose-driven culture
    • Experience operating cross-functionally to drive strategic initiatives that impact product roadmap and general business direction
    • Excitement toward disrupting markets not previously disrupted by technology and facilitating digital transformation
    • Aggressive, action-oriented, and excellent closing skills
    • Experience motivating sales teams that generate their own opportunities in addition to marketing and SDR teams but not relying solely on these supporting teams--
    • Extensive experience building a repeatable sales motion that is not transactional but supports a consultative selling motion--
    • Complex deal modeling and pricing--
    • Experience selling in a highly competitive environment
    • Demonstrated history of closing multi-year business contracts with large customers--
    • Extensive Land and Expand SaaS selling experience--
    • Strong organizational skills and prioritization, balancing multiple challenges at once
    • Proven ability to hit and exceed revenue goals on a consistent basis and crisp forecasting background--
    • High energy, self-motivated, excellent storyteller, and a culture leader--
    • Comfortable presenting to C-level decision-makers as well as to engineers, data scientists, events, meetups, demos, and conferences.
    • Entrepreneurial mindset. Listening to understand customers' needs and responding with solid technical guidance and implementation. Preferred Qualifications:
      • Experience selling AI tools to the Data Scientist--
      • Previous experience scaling a sales team to 20+ representatives--
      • Enterprise sales expertise that has navigated multiple deals above 7 figures--
