Job Description and Duties
This position supports the California Department of Public Health's (CDPH) mission and strategic plan by directly supervising the support staff and handling assignments of a confidential nature. The Supervising Program Technician II (SPT II) handles the more difficult and complex technical problems which arise from health facilities and the general public. The incumbent acts as the regional office's Attendance Coordinator performing functions such as collecting benefits forms and reporting dock to the Human Resources Division (HRD). This position may require up to 10% travel for training and state car maintenance.The incumbent works under the general direction of the Staff Services Manager I.Teleworking may be available for this position, in accordance with CDPH's Telework Policy and Procedures.This is a reposting of JC-400006 to increase candidate pool; previous applicants do not need to reapply and are still for consideration. CHCQ is responsible for ensuring health care facilities comply with state laws and regulations. In addition, CHCQ cooperates with CMS to ensure that facilities accepting Medicare and Medi-Cal (in California, Medicaid is referred to as Medi-Cal) payments meet federal requirements. CHCQ also oversees the certification of nurse assistants, home health aides, hemodialysis technicians, and the licensing of nursing home administrators.

      Special Requirements

      This position requires the employee to enter health care facilities to provide services or work as part of the duties.
