Under general direction of the Program and Project Supervisor,
incumbent serves in a staff and sometimes lead capacity responsible
for evaluating, updating, implementing, and enforcing the
operation, maintenance, performance, and safety standards of
electric generating facilities and energy storage systems.
Incumbent conducts complex technical research and policy analysis
of electric generating facilities and energy storage systems in
California.
Positions at the CPUC may be eligible for telework under Government
Code 14200 for eligible applicants residing in California, and

Desirable Qualifications
In addition to evaluating each candidate's relative ability, as
demonstrated by quality and breadth of experience, the following
factors will provide the basis for competitively evaluating each
candidate:
Knowledge of California PU Code, California Public Utilities
Commission policies and regulations, other State and Federal
regulations pertaining to power generation, electric, and
communication infrastructure; physical properties of electric
generators, transmission, distribution, and related
infrastructure.
Knowledge of trends and issues pertaining to public utilities
regulations; principles of program evaluation and planning;
principles and concepts of economics, econometrics and finance in a
research setting; public utilities policy analysis and
formulation.
Experience in participating in Commission hearings and represent
the Commission before federal, state, and local agencies as well as
the Legislature as a subject matter expert and provide
presentations to management, industry groups, government
representatives, and the media.
