Job Description:

landing (VTOL) cargo aircraft systems that will change the way the

in uniform need a reliable unmanned aerial cargo delivery system.

As we prepare to fly our vehicles with customers, we are looking
for people like you: motivated teammates excited by this mission
and by the rare opportunity to develop a world-class autonomous
aerial logistics system. You will play a critical role in bringing
the Elroy Air system to the world. As the Quality Assurance Leader,
you'll define, plan and drive the build-out of the Quality
Management System of the company. Act as the subject matter expert,
internal coach and external liaison with regards to all operational
Quality Assurance activities. Work alongside other operational
leaders to foster the careful growth of production and supply chain
operations, to achieve high levels of assembly, integration &
product quality in a safe environment. Since this position involves
working hands-on with direct reports, teams, suppliers, customers
and investors, you'll need to work from the office, an operations
facility, or on business related travel for the majority of work
days. However, Elroy Air has a flexible work from home and remote
work policy for those times when you can get your work done
effectively at home. What you'll own
- Focal point for the Elroy Air QMS (Quality Management System),
processes and tools
- Development of the QA (Quality Assurance) function, systems,
team and processes
- Take full ownership of the project plan and roadmap to achieve
both AS9100 compliance and FAA production certification
approval.
- Main interface with internal functional leaders to baseline,
develop and mature current processes, and ensure compliance to the
appropriate levels of quality governance.
- Be the subject matter expert for the QA function and the
essential digital processes needed. Lead the full QA digital
process integration as part of the Elroy Air digital factory
roadmap
- Focal point for external organizations related to quality: FAA
Production Certification organization, Quality Assurance Registrar,
calibration vendors and external specialist consultants.
- Full QMS documentation system ownership. Establishing
documentation standards, assisting with configuration control and
workflow processes to optimize essential procedures.
- Working as part of a small, talented and focused team, setting
into motion the foundational Quality Assurance processes necessary
for the company to scale effectively within an industry and
regulatory compliant, aerospace production framework.
- Domain expertise in Aerospace & Defense regarding specific
processes that underpin a solid operational, engineering, supply
chain and quality system. -
- Deep experience and familiarity with the AS9100 QMS standard
(implementing and/or maintenance of the standard).
- Deep understanding of the business processes of a
manufacturing, complex assembly or engineering & technology-focused
company. Has worked in other roles of an organization with career
experience outside of the Quality Assurance function.
- Flexible, creative, yet focused individual. Able to solve
problems, collaborate and communicate effectively at all levels of
the organization.
- Aspiring leader and capable professional, that seeks to grow
their effectiveness and leadership capabilities within a dynamic,
innovative and growing organization.
- Continuous improvement minded. Process focused and detail

in the face of setbacks, learn from mistakes and be able to manage
numerous, sometimes competing, priorities.
- Minimum 10 years professional experience in manufacturing and
industrial companies.
- Demonstrated Project Management Skills - able to define, plan,
execute and adjust long-cycle projects.
- Strong ethical values - willing to uphold quality rules and
standards in an independent manner.
- Familiarity with ERP systems and their interaction, data
requirements and interface with ISO 9001 and AS9100 (or similar)
QMS modules or add-on, third party, software systems. -
- Cooperative and effective team player. Able to collaborate with
all levels of a fast-growing company.
- Proficient with Excel, Powerpoint, or equivalent tools
- Strong communication skills (verbal and written)
- Education: Minimum Bachelor's level Degree in relevant
discipline
- Lean manufacturing & six sigma tools & experience
- Six sigma black-belt or similar formal accreditation
- QMS Audit experience, internal or external auditor
experience
- Process control expert - experience with process control plans
& assembly optimization. Statistical process control and applying
appropriate metrology at the appropriate points.
- Start-up / early-stage company experience.
- FAA Production experience (Production or MRO)PMP Certified /
Program Management experience.
- Demonstrated ability to train & coach others ('train the
trainer' certificate a plus)6-month outcomes
- Will have rapidly integrated into the growing, dynamic and
capable Elroy Air team and will have gained trust and respect of
co-workers.
- Will have collaborated, scoped, planned and detailed the
phased, thoughtful and program-aligned implementation of the ISO
9001 and AS9100 QMS systems. Will have commenced specific work
tasks to achieve this goal.
- Will have chosen the digital tools and system(s) necessary to
deliver an AS9100 level QMS and begun implementation.
- Be up to speed with the detailed operational processes
necessary to procure, assemble, inspect, certify and operate the
Chaparral air vehicle that meet FAA production certification
standards. -
- Will have mapped out the resources needed to build a robust
Quality Assurance function within the company, as time, budget and
