Francisco-Marin Food Bank.The San Francisco-Marin Food Bank is
comprised of a dedicated team of approximately 150 staff working
collaboratively to provide close to 50 million pounds of food to
over 210,000 people in the Bay Area – a region where 1 in 4 people
are at risk of hunger. We are currently looking for a Temp Truck
Loader / Unloader to help provide support to Truck Drivers with the
upcoming expansion project. See job description below and apply

hunger.POSITION PURPOSEPrimary job responsibilities is assisting
our San Francisco drivers in the loading and unloading of their
trucks. Other responsibilities will be organizing pallets in
preparation for load-out, and handling all required documentation.
Certified pallet jack/forklift driver a plus. Will need to
effectively communicate with other employees and management. Must
be able to work safely in a team setting. Follow the Individual
Work Plan (IWP) for this position as outlined in essential
functions and basic duties.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND BASIC
DUTIESOperations:
- ·Organize and stage orders in preparation for distribution
- ·Verify actual number of pallets compared to count sheet
- Item spot check/quality control
- Working inside Freezer/cooler performing pallet counts with a
temperature range of –10 degrees F. to 38 degrees F.
- Verify, by count, that high value protein items are
accurate
- · Loading and unloading of freight
- · Consolidate freight to minimize total number of pallets
- · Operation Monitoring — watching gauges, dials, or other
indicators to make sure a machine is working properly
- · Provide excellent customer service to our pantry network by
the effective loading of our trucks
- · Assist in Recycle program
- · Process, manage and return to inventory, driver return
item
- · Assist in receiving during heavy inbound days or when drivers
are successfully dispatched
- Up to 2/3 of the time: walk; sit; squat; bend; twist; reach at
various heights above and below shoulder level
- Up to 1/3 of the time: push or pull; lift or carry large,
heavy, awkward objects while maneuvering in a confined space, e.g.,
narrow aisles, high density storage areas, inside of a truck box,
etc.; ascend or descend flights of stairs; climb in or out of
trucks, docks and/or forklifts.Safety:
- · Demonstrate adherence to safety through consistent actions in
line with safety expectations and adherence to all related policies
and procedures
- · Follow work safety and food safety in adherence to SF-Marin
Food Bank policies and procedures, standard operating procedures
and federal/state regulations (Food Handling, AIB, DOSH and
OSHA)QUALIFICATIONS • Basic knowledge of food storage, handling and
distribution procedures• Basic knowledge of inventory control
processes and procedures• Valid California driver's license and a
clean DMV printout - preferred but not requiredExert force and/or
lift or carry items weighing twenty (20) to one hundred (100)
pounds occasionally, and up to fifty (50) pounds frequentlyHigh
School diploma or higher, 2 years forklift experience preferred,
Basic computer skills, 1 years basic warehousing experience
required, Able to work in a fast-paced environment and take
direction from multiple managersKey Qualifications
- Stand up and sit down forklift experience and/or the ability to
obtain forklift certification
- Proven ability to safely operate all types of warehouse
equipment, including, but not limited to, pallet jacks, forklifts

Average, ordinary, visual acuity necessary to view equipment,
boxes, and packages.PHYSICAL STRENGTH: Medium to heavy work;
requiring stooping and exerting up to 50 lbs. of force lifting,
carrying, and or packing food resources.COMMUNICATION AND COGNITIVE
REQUIREMENTSREASONING ABILITY: Ability to apply principles of
logical thinking to practical problems. Ability to interpret
instructions.MATHEMATICS ABILITY: Ability to perform basic math
skills.LANGUAGE ABILITY: Fluency in English.SALARY: $19.81-21.87
