Splunk is seeking a People Analytics practitioner to define and produce key Talent, HR and workforce analysis. A solid background in data science or business intelligence and the technical capability to configure software is required. This is a dynamic role where you will be providing critical business information to People Team and Splunk leadership to help to ensure that the company is meeting its people objectives.You will work cross-functionally with several organizations at Splunk (including HR, Finance, and IT), with the primary objective of enabling leadership to make effective, data driven, and strategic operating decisions. You will be tasked with getting a deep understanding of our talent functions and leverage data to inform leadership of trends, challenges and opportunities. You will be highly data driven, technically astute, a solid communicator, intellectually curious, a fast learner, and able to move quickly while keeping focused on high impact projects with limited direction and supervision.Responsibilities:Reporting and Analytics

  • Provide reporting and analysis to the Splunk HR leadership team and other stakeholders including monthly dashboards, compliance reporting, analysis related to talent acquisition, attrition, diversity, and HR operational metrics to help drive business decisions and identify areas of strength and opportunities for improvement.
  • Own key functional analytical projects (dashboards, studies, models) including planning, building and ongoing maintenance
  • Exhibit outstanding reporting & analysis skills to determine trends, establish benchmarks and forge insights for various parts of the business
  • Leverage excellent communication and storytelling skills, specifically in working with end users to define their reporting & analytics needs and tell their stories
  • Partner with Talent Acquisition, HRIS, Snowflake developers, HR Business Partners, Finance and others to identify report anomalies and research multiple data sources to identify cause and correction
  • Gather and use data to inform decision-making and persuade others. Work effectively in an unstructured environment requiring new perspectives and creative approaches
  • Keep track of key workforce talent measures and performance drivers
  • Contribute to the strategy and roadmap to significantly improve our reporting and analytics capabilities, considering the appropriate data architecture, tools and methodologies to deliver against the plan.
  • Partner with the enterprise data management teams to build out the workforce analytics strategy, define the architecture, and identify ways in which HR will leverage data
  • Build out a knowledge base by documenting data sources, methodologies and approaches
  • Employ enthusiasm about the opportunity to build this capability, moving seamlessly between managing basic reporting needs while also building a foundation which allows Splunk People Services to automate and deliver self-service tools and dashboards to allow for more sophisticated analysesRequirements
    • 5-10 years of relevant experience
    • Strong knowledge and application of data analysis, data visualization, and data modeling within one or more people domains (e.g. HRIS, ATS, DEI, LMS) data and variables across the employee lifecycle (from candidate experience to rehire)
    • Experience with data analytics using SQL, Business Intelligence and Visualization tools such as Tableau. Familiarity with deploying and supporting BI production environments.
    • Relevant experience in using data science platforms such as Alteryx a plus
    • Demonstrated expertise in data engineering and/or analysis using languages such as Python or R a plus
    • Specific experience with Workday or Jobvite configuration and reporting tools a plus
    • Practical (non-academic) experience in statistical analysis (regression, correlation, scenario analysis, forecasting, and experimentation (A/B) testing is a plus
    • Strong business acumen, analytical, troubleshooting, problem-solving, interpersonal and project management skills
    • Ability to speak and write clearly, concisely, and compellingly
