Job Description:Performs specialized and complex financial analysis involving business process reengineering, business strategies and product development for the Bank's Member Financial Services & Community Investment Division; handles special custom projects and provides business and operational analysis on issues pertaining to new business initiatives, advances and MPF Products, and strategic initiatives. Leads business and technical projects to completion given broad direction from management.Major Accountabilities :

  • Provides ideas and recommendations regarding the evolution of the member goal-setting process and development of corporate strategy.
  • Acts as subject matter expert for the Bank's prepayment fee calculations for member advances. Establishes prepayment standards, processes, and required automated systems for new products, participates on project design teams and contributes to the application; identifies business requirements and makes recommendations for potential solutions and coordinates implementation of these solutions. Creates and maintains technical and user-oriented documentation required to support the application. Assist Member Services Desk to utilize Calypso, the Bank's trade capture system, for prepayments.
  • Makes recommendations and implementations to existing Bank products and performs analysis on accounting, legal, treasury, risk management, regulatory, and operational impacts. Serves as a liaison between Member Financial Services and other Bank departments.
  • Plans and conducts market research and analysis to identify potential customers, emerging markets and product opportunities for the Bank, as well as customer satisfaction issues. Models bank and credit unions financial statements for wholesale funding needs and recommends suitable advance, letter of credit, and MPF products with the Sales team to Bank customers. Supports Sales team through a business intelligence platform and utilizes Salesforce to improve the sales management process.
  • Focuses on MPF reporting, servicing and control environment and coordinates with the MPF Provider, PFIs and internal staff to manage existing balances. Performs competitive analysis on MPF pricing and product features and develops market analysis for MPF volume and market share utilizing Home Mortgage Disclosure Act (HMDA) data.
  • Conducts research and analysis into the nature, effect and results of business problems affecting the Bank's Member Financial Services & Community Investment Division. Works with all groups to develop an understanding of the varied and complex business needs of the area, and assists in providing business and operational analysis on tactical and strategic issues.
  • Provides financial analysis support with monthly reports, advances forecasting and pricing analysis for advance products. Provides analytical, trading, and Calypso support to Member Services Desk. Manages and processes Member Financial Services data sources and databases for both structured and unstructured data.
  • Evaluates department spreadsheets, databases, processes, and controls to ensure compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley, annual risk assessment, internal controls, SEC reporting, etc.; identifies, resolves and implements any necessary remediation of control deficiencies.Skills/Knowledge :
    • Bachelor's degree in finance, economics, a related field or equivalent work experience is required. Master's degree in economics or other relevant quantitative field, CFA or MBA with a quantitative finance emphasis preferred.
    • Minimum of six years of increasingly responsible experience as a quantitative financial analyst, preferably within a financial institutions environment.
    • Aptitude and experience in developing and using a wide range of analytic systems and models to measure financial performance and risk and fixed-income securities. Experience with Bloomberg and S&P Global Market Intelligence: SNL strongly preferred.
    • Strong quantitative, analytic and data skills. Working knowledge of data management tools such as SQL, R, or Python is preferred. Experience with data visualization tools such as Tableau or PowerBI is preferred.
    • Knowledge of fixed-income capital markets including secondary mortgage market (TBA) and associated pricing and valuation methods.
    • Demonstrated understanding of the role of asset/liability management within a financial intermediary. Knowledge of Basel III and other financial regulations strongly preferred.
    • Solid understanding of balance sheet structure, capital structure and financial performance. Solid understanding of financial institutions including banks and credit unions and monetary system required.
    • Strong project management skills required.
