Quality Assurance AnalystPrimary PurposeThe Quality Assurance Analyst (QA Analyst) is a key member of the project team. The QA Analyst works directly with the Program Manager, Vendor Management, MLP team, and Project Managers to ensure the quality of translated and published deliverables. To this end, the QA Analyst is the owner of key resource materials (Glossary, Style Guide, Instructions, automated QA settings) and enabling assets. The QA Analyst is responsible for ensuring that the appropriate quality approach and resources are applied to projects to meet client requirements for accuracy, formatting, and delivery timeline, and to ensure adherence to project budgets in the area of Quality Assurance.The QA Analyst's primary responsibility is to evaluate project materials, assess potential risks affecting the quality of the translated deliverables and recommend and implement measures to mitigate these risks. The QA Analyst ensures the appropriate level of consistency/accuracy of formatting, stylistic consistency across languages, and adherence to client specifications and style guides.In addition, the QA Analyst coordinates and oversees internal and external proofreaders to support quality assurance activities. Responsible for the overall quality of the deliverables, the QA Analyst evaluates and provides feedback to said resources as part of the continuous improvement process. The QA Analyst works closely with proofing resources to provide training, guidance, proofer evaluations, and to ensure that there is an adequate pool of developed resources to support current and future Production demands for QA tasks. The QA Analyst may also be involved in Corrective Action Preventative Action (CAPA) investigation, implementation and adherence to long term solutions.The QA Analyst works in a variety of languages, but command of at least one foreign language is preferred. Often times the QA Analyst assists in researching queries raised by linguists and DTP teams during the course of the project. Where necessary, the QA Analyst will perform final format proofing of translated documentation prior to delivery.The QA Specialist reports to a Program Manager for his/her respective team.Essential Functions* PRODUCTION OPERATIONS:* Review and approve bids and project plans, providing proactive input regarding the appropriate approach to achieving required quality for the specific client/project* Ensure ISO requirements are being met* Identify and communicate risks as appropriate to eliminate potential pitfalls or obstacles* Ensure strict adherence to deadlines, budgets and the completion of high-quality deliverables for the QA steps in the process* Oversee the use of best practices in QA processes and advocate for quality in general production processes* Participate in strategic project and account kick-offs* Participate in internal post mortems to help improve processes and reduce risk* Ensure the receipt of all purchase orders, approve invoices and escalate payment issues where necessary* Collaborate in the CAPA process with cross-functional teams* Manage client feedback handling and investigate client feedback to complete resolution reports needed for client deliverables. Own feedback report tracking, investigations, analyses, and actions* RESOURCE COORDINATION:* Work closely with vendor management on QA resource needs and planning* Provide training, guidance, and real time feedback to QA resources to ensure a well-developed and well qualified pool of resources* Create and send POs to external resources* Ensure project resources have the necessary tools and information to accomplish tasks* Alert resources of schedule and scope changes* Provide feedback to Vendor Management on external resource performance* TEAMWORK:* Coach and mentor junior personnel* Participate in allocation of workloads across team members for maximum capacity utilization* Make recommendations for process improvements that improve efficiency, quality and profitability* Provide direct constructive feedback in real time to other QA personnel, Project Managers, MLP personnel, and external resourcesAdditional Duties* Performs other related duties, as assigned, for the purpose of ensuring the efficient and effective completion and shipment of projects.Note: The above description is illustrative of tasks and responsibilities. It is not meant to be all inclusive of every task or responsibility.Equipment* Uses standard office equipment such as personal computer, scanner, copy machine, fax machine, telephone/headset.Work Schedules* Twelve months per year standard work schedule as needed to successfully meet individual and department goals and objectives, and meet employee and client needs, including a reasonable amount of overtime as necessary.Knowledge, Skills and Abilities* Strong organizational skills in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment* Fluent communication skills of written and verbal English* Advanced computing skills, specifically experience with publishing applications (e.g., FrameMaker, InDesign, etc.)* A team player who can collaborate effectively* Quality focus and eye for detail* Good technical and problem solving skills* Accustomed to working in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment with varying demands* Client-focused service experiencePhysical and Mental Demands, Work Hazards* Works in standard office building environments.See the Summary of Physical, Sensory and Environmental Requirements Needed to Perform Essential Job Duties for this position.Qualification ProfileAny combination of education and experience providing the required skills and knowledge for successful performance would be qualifying. Typical qualifications would be equivalent to:* Four-year college degree or equivalent* More than five years of QA experience within the localization or translation industry* Experience in developing and coaching team members and building healthy teams* Proven client account and relationship management experience* Bonus Skills* Experience with DTP applications, online help systems, translation memory (TM) and localization tools (CAT)* Experience with automated QA tools* Verbal and written fluency in at least one foreign language* Knowledge of and experience with Quality Systems (ISO 9001/13485 and/or FDA Regulated)U.S. FLSA Status: ExemptU.K. Status: Per ContractDate: 03/2018
