Rhonda Pavlicek Senior Vice President, Chief Financial Officer POSITION TITLE: Settlement Services Specialist LOCATION: Lake Jackson, TX REPORTS TO: Manager- Settlement Services or Settlement Services Supervisor The Settlement Services Specialist 2 the Check21 program and the daily processing of all check files and balancing of checks from many channels including but not limited to Federal Reserve, ATM, Mobile, Branch Capture, and Teller Capture. Additional tasks associate with this processing is handling all exceptions, returned items, encoding errors, check adjustments, reclamations, and daily internal postings to core. It also supports all check operations with internal IT Dept. and processing vendors. Works with Accounting Dept. for all general ledgers accounts associated with check processing and ensure all accounts are balanced on a daily basis. This position also works with management during critical events that involves executing Business Continuity Planning for the department. Team member is part of the relocation and processing for continued member services for the credit union. Represents the department functions on Enterprise and Departmental projects including but not limited to testing and updates of the core system to provide an ongoing robust optimal performance. Works with check vendor on maintaining test system functionality. Works to supply management reporting volumes for organizational goal tracking. Education and Experience Essential education High School graduate or equivalent is required. ACH or NCP certifications (or willingness to obtain) preferred. Essential experience Two to four years of similar related work experience is preferred. Preferred experience includes five (5) hours of informational, compliance training for Wire Transfers and five (5) hours of compliance training for deceased, legal, IRS processing Knowledge, Skills and Abilities - Essential: Strong interpersonal communication skills and strategic and creative thinking abilities. - Essential: Assumes responsibility for confidential member information. - Essential: Passion for accuracy. - Essential: Serves as a resource to members, prospective members, and employees. - Essential: Continually learns and stays current trends in the marketplace. Able to prioritize daily, weekly and monthly tasks. - Essential: Strong working knowledge of relevant software including Microsoft Office, Word and Excel. - Essential: Demonstrated understanding of accounting transactions to prepare and post journal entries to general ledger. - Essential: Experience with reading and interpretation of financial reports and basic financial documents. Able to perform complex analysis of expenses and reporting. This position may require travel up to 5% of the time based on business needs. Attendance Requirements: Regular onsite attendance is an essential function of this position. This means that the employee is required to report to work on time and must remain available to clients during scheduled hours. This position requires face-to-face interaction in person or by telephone and e-mail with members, clients, and vendors.
