Please note: This position is contract role,up to 5 years with

This position is based in Richmond, CA and offers a hybrid work
environment including both remote and office centered work. The
standard for hybrid work is a minimum of four days per week
in-person and up to one teleworking day per week. The amount of
telework is at the discretion of the Department's operational
business needs and subject to change at any time consistent with
the CDPH Telework Program.
Starting salary range: $87,900-92,000 per year
The mission of the California Department of Public Health (CDPH),
Tuberculosis Control Branch is to reduce tuberculosis (TB) in
California with the eventual aim of eliminating the disease in the
state. Tuberculosis (TB) is a life-threatening disease transmitted
through the air with extensive medical and economic consequences.
It is the leading infectious disease killer in the world, and
continues to be a serious public health issue in California. Every
year, about 2,000 Californians are diagnosed with TB, of whom half
require hospitalization. 1 in 6 individuals diagnosed with TB die
within five years, even with modern treatments and survivors may

In this role, you will work as part of the TB registry team to
ensure complete and accurate reporting of TB in California. You
will develop subject matter expertise in TB reporting guidelines
and in data quality control. You will act independently to conduct
trainings on TB reporting, data quality, and the use of electronic
surveillance reporting systems and directly assist local health
department staff when they have questions or concerns in these
areas. You will serve as a storyteller by developing data
visualizations and dashboards to make public health data useful and
accessible for internal and external audiences. You will also
develop and refine reports used by CDPH and local health
departments, analyze and interpret data, and present data to public
health audiences.
The final salary and offer components are subject to additional
approvals based on UC policy.Your placement within the salary range
is dependent on a number of factors including your work experience
and internal equity within this position classification at UCSF.

Institute for Global Health Sciences works with the California
Department of Public Health on several projects to help improve the
health of Californians. One of these projects include the
Tuberculosis Control Branch (TBCB), and is located at the CDPH
campus in Richmond, CA. CDPH is dedicated to optimizing the health
and well-being of the people in California. To protect and improve
the health of all, TBCB provides leadership and resources to
prevent and control tuberculosis (TB). This mission is carried out
in collaboration with local health jurisdictions and stakeholders
in the public and private sectors. IGHS is dedicated to improving
health and reducing the burden of disease in the world's most
vulnerable populations. It integrates UCSF expertise in all of the
health, social, and biological sciences, and focuses that expertise
on pressing issues in global health. IGHS works with partners in
