Job Summary
Please note: Fully remote is negotiable for this role.
Uses skills as a seasoned, experienced research professional with a
full understanding of in-depth statistical analyses and / or
research software programming techniques. Demonstrates good
judgment in selecting methods and techniques for obtaining
solutions.
Uses skills as a seasoned, experienced technical Monitoring and
Evaluation (M&E) lead to support the ResilientShield project.
The "Resilient Shield" is a CDC-funded initiative with the aim of
enhancing public health responses through a collaborative modeling
and action framework initially developed during the COVID-19
pandemic. This initiative involves multiple University of
California campuses (UC San Diego is the main/coordinating entity
and Dr. Malekinejad is the UCSF PI) and the County of San Diego
Health and Human Services Agency. The project will develop an
"enhanced reference design" of previous models, integrating agile
data centers and adaptable methods for public health
implementation. By leveraging novel data sources like wastewater
surveillance, molecular epidemiology, and smartphone-based
notifications, Resilient Shield intends to improve forecasting and
analytic capabilities to predict and manage infectious disease
threats effectively.
The approach will utilize advanced modeling techniques, including
artificial intelligence, agent-based models, and dynamical systems,
to understand and predict human behavior and system dynamics. These
methods will be validated through serious games, drills, and
exercises, providing realistic training scenarios for public health
professionals. The project will also include rigorous monitoring
and evaluation to assess performance and engage a broad spectrum of
stakeholders throughout the project's lifecycle.
Dr. Malekinejad's team at UCSF leads on the RS center's Evaluation
and Dissemination efforts. The successful incumbent will use their
skills as a seasoned, experienced professional with a full
understanding of analytical practices, researches, analyzes and
develops solutions to a wide range of monitoring and evaluation
issues. Demonstrates good judgment in selecting methods and
techniques for obtaining solutions.
The final salary and offer components are subject to additional
approvals based on UC policy.Your placement within the salary range
is dependent on a number of factors including your work experience
and internal equity within this position classification at UCSF.
For positions that are represented by a labor union, placement
within the salary range will be guided by the rules in the
collective bargaining agreement.The salary range for this position
is $84,400 - $120,100 (Annual Rate).To learn more about the
