looking for a Systems Engineer to build automated test systems to
characterize, validate, verify, and calibrate our current and next
generation LIDAR sensors. The ideal candidate will have experience
developing automated opto-mechanical systems, managing
requirements, analyzing data, and communicating the results to
cross-functional teams. You will work with an exceptional
engineering team to push the design envelope of Ouster LIDARs and
make affordable 3D sensing a reality. The California
startingbasepayrange for this role is $180,000 to $220,000 per
year. The actualbasepayis dependent upon many factors, such as
location, transferable skills, work experience, business needs, and
market demands. Thebasepayrange is subject to change and may be
modified in the future. This role may also be eligible for
company-sponsored benefitsRESPONSIBILITIES:
- Drive requirements for new products using requirements
management software (ex: jama).
- Design, develop, and integrate system-level and
sub-assembly-level tests to validate and verify the Ouster Lidar
products.
- Work cross-functionally with mechatronics, embedded software,
electrical, and optical engineers to define system corner cases and
drive the process of system improvement.
- Work closely with the Quality team to manage product
requirements, validation, and verification. BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor's degree in mechatronics, mechanical engineering,
electrical engineering, physics, materials science, or related
degree.
- Strong high-level programming skills (e.g. Python, C#,
C++).
- Experience with mechatronic systems (e.g. motion control,
optical alignment, automation).
- Experience with requirement management software (e.g
jama).
- 4+ years of experience delivering on testing systems focused on
driving requirements and verifying results
- Experience with data analysis (JMP, Tableau, SQL).
- Proficiency in 3D CAD tools (SolidWorks preferred).
- Electrical engineering fundamentals (analog design, circuit
debugging).
- Experience in modern team software development tools such as
git, code reviews, and test driven development.
- Experience with CI test systems (Jenkins, Gitlab CI/CD).
- Experience with manufacturing environments and equipment. We
