SDI's Data & Insights team has a core mission to empower business users to unlock the power of data, create new opportunities for innovation, and turn insights into competitive advantage. We are building an end-to-end analytics product suite to meet the needs of leaders, our cross-functional partners, and members of the analytics community across the bank. We are looking for an analytical, strategic, impact driven team player and leader to join our analytics team as our Director of Enterprise Payments Strategy Analytics, reporting directly to our SVP of Data Analytics & Insights Products. The Director of EPS Analytics is a new position that will play a critical role in supporting the EPS team in developing a unified payments vision for the company and leading strategic cross-enterprise payments initiatives. They will also provide analytical leadership around utilization of core data assets and products that are owned by the EPS team (e.g., enterprise payments hubs). The ideal candidate has 7-10 years of managing Analytics, Business Intelligence and/or Data Science teams that have a proven track record for turning business questions into data problems into insights into impact, preferably with real experience in the payments domain. This is an opportunity to stretch & hone your strategic thinking and skills - build/lead a best in class team of analysts and data engineers who provide deep analytical insights to inform tactics, strategic decisions and identify areas of opportunity in payments across the company. In this role, you will:

  • Lead a team in planning, coordinating, and executing primary and secondary customer and market research projects, results-oriented intelligence to support the Enterprise Payments Strategy team
  • Maintain functional ownership of various aspects including technical advisory, delivery infrastructure, communication, and engagement strategy and other key strategic aspects of the function
  • Lead large, companywide complex projects and initiatives
  • Identify and integrate external market factors that impact or drive business outcomes
  • Build analytical capabilities and manage modeling, forecasting, reporting, and data distribution tools and processes
  • Define measurement standards and collaborate companywide to achieve consistent agreement and application of definitions, measurements, and interpretation
  • Manage and direct multiple levels of managers to ensure effective consultation and recommendation based on key financial models and complex non-model quantitative tools
  • Advise more experienced leadership and executive management on issues with high, critical impact on the success of the company
  • Set guidelines for compliance and risk management requirements for supported area and work with other stakeholders to implement key risk initiatives
  • Serve as an industry expert
  • Primarily interface with external agencies, regulatory bodies, and or industry forums
  • Communicate and provide strategic consultation to more experienced leaders throughout the organization
  • Collaborate across the company to predict current and future needs
  • Manage allocation of people and financial resources for Analytics
  • Develop and guide a culture of talent development to meet business objectives and strategyRequired Qualifications, US:
    • 8+ years of Analytics experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education
    • 4+ years of management experienceDesired Qualifications:
      • 7+ years of experience managing Analytics, Business Intelligence and/or Data Science teams
      • 3+ years of Payments industry knowledge and expertise
      • Proven leadership skills including relationship building, change leadership, partnering and collaboration skills with clear ability to influence, gain buy-in and negotiate with a diverse group of key business partners/leaders
      • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with experience presenting to senior management and ability to articulate key messages around risk, issues, customer impacts, etc. in a straightforward and understandable manner
      • Ability to energize and motivate others; thrives in teams; highly inclusive and collaborative with proven ability to lead through influence vs. authority
      • Proven success achieving objectives requiring a high level of cooperation from other parts of the organization to collaborate, initiate action planning, manage change, as well as make high impact decisions that advance the progress of the organization
      • Excellent problem solving and analytic capabilities utilized to identify improvement opportunities, as well as creating approaches/programs to address those issues
      • Strategic mindset with strong industry awareness, preferably in the payments domain.
      • Effective people leader with proven experience building, leading, and engaging high-performing, diverse, and inclusive teams.
