Tue Apr 26 2022 Job Description:POSITION SUMMARYThe Development
Associate is responsible for providing administrative support to
the Managing Director of Development, the Director of Major Gifts
and the Development team, including filing, scanning
communications, preparing Development materials, generating
acknowledgement letters and other mailings. The Development
Associate will also work with the Development Database and
Operations Manager to assist with data entry into Raiser's Edge
NXT, including the timely and accurate processing of gifts,
multi-year commitments and other forms of support. This position
reports to the Development Database and Operations Manager at
CIIS.The Development Associate is responsible for the
following:Provides administrative assistance to the Manager of
Development and Alumni Relations and the Director of Major
Gifts.Coordinate working meetings with donors, managing
correspondence, and proofreading final products.Processes gifts and
pledges in compliance with IRS and CIIS gift reporting
requirements.Advance the planning and production of donor events
and program briefings, including an annual gala benefit.Prepare
mailings to donors and prospects, including in-house stewardship
materials and direct mail campaigns.Coordinates with MarCom and IT
departments on updating Development pages on website.Prepares check
requests and tracks expenses in the Development budget.Supports the
Development Database & Operations Manager with data and
donation-related communications with the Finance, Business,
Information Technology, Alumni and Financial Aid offices.Point
person for processing and organizing matching gifts and primary
liaison to matching gift vendor.Update biographical information in
Raiser's Edge NXT (including addresses, business information,
associations, addressee, and salutations) received through gift
transmittal, direct mail response, checks, and other related
sources.Assists with digital recordkeeping and documentation for
Advancement Office.Distributes official acknowledgement letters and
gift receipts to donors.Other administrative duties as needed, such
as printing, filing, scanning, checking incoming mail.Works with
the Database and Operations Manager to facilitate distribution of
mailings, e-solicitations; assists with managing online fundraising
processing and participates in other activities designed to boost
giving from alumni and other donors.Assists with event planning,
invitations, tracking attendance, ticketing and registration, and
post-event assessment and reporting.Support the Database and
Operations Manager with documentation creation for department
training and use. Job Requirements:MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONSBachelor's
degree and 1-2 years' experience, or equivalent combination of
education and experience. Experience on a Development/fundraising
team preferred.Advanced technical skills and computer literacy,
including Microsoft Office applications. Experience with Microsoft
Outlook, OneDrive, Teams, Adobe Photoshop for online campaign
images and designs and other applications a plus.Experience and
core competency with relational databases, online fundraising, and
email marketing platforms; Raiser's Edge preferred.Strong
communication and interpersonal skills.Excellent organization
skills, including scheduling and managing office
procedures.Excellent writing, editing, and proofreading
skills.Ability to work both independently and as part of a
team.Sound judgment and discretion to maintain privacy and
confidentiality.Enthusiasm for and commitment to CIIS' values,

remotely from time-to-time. Collaboration and constant work around
and with other people.PHYSICAL ABILITIESThis position requires
attention to detail, good memory, the ability to work under
deadline pressure, sitting and standing for long periods of time,
oral and written communication, keyboarding for significant
portions of the workday, pushing, pulling, bending, stooping,
reaching, and patience and tact in order to perform essential
functions. Must be able to lift and carry 20 to 30 lbs on an
occasional basis; and must be able to lift 40 lbs on an occasional
basis (a hand truck or cart will be provided when items need to be
moved over longer distance).LOCATIONHybrid.SALARY AND
