Responsibilities
Responsible for supporting Inland Marine business growth, profitability and service objectives through the underwriting of renewal accounts and servicing the assigned book.


  • Review and analyze renewal accounts of mid to high complexity to determine renewal underwriting action Request information from agent needed to analyze renewal acceptability Collaborate with Underwriter to manage the renewal book to meet profitability objectives when decisions fall outside of Account Executives assigned authority Responsible for policy issuance on mid to high complexity renewal accounts Correspond directly with agents to answer and manage service needs on the account including endorsements, reporting terms, and billing questions Other projects as assigned

    Qualifications

    • 2+ years of Commercial underwriting knowledge and experience with Inland Marine coverages preferred Ability to research, analyze, interpret, procedures manuals, utilize underwriting documentation and rating tools. Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, commissions, proportions, percentages, etc. Exercise discretion and independent judgement to make sound decisions, using available data or logical assumptions that best fit the situation. Ability to effectively present information and influence external customers to align with company business processes and goals Ability to project a warm and friendly manner in all business contacts, while maintaining a professional relationship with fellow workers, agency contacts, and the general public. Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment and meet established deadlines. Ability to read and comprehend instructions, correspondence and memos and to communicate ideas clearly and effectively. Ability to utilize PC software, i.e. Microsoft Products such as Word and Excel, as well as proprietary company systems. Ability to consistently demonstrate the WRBC Leadership Core Competencies and Innovation Behaviors.

      Education
      Bachelor's degree in relevant discipline or equivalent combination of education and experience

      Compensation Range
      $65,000 to $75,000
