Job Description:
The Martinez Lab at Stanford University is seeking a Life
Science Research Professional 1 (2 year fixed term) possibility for
extension, to perform basic functions and activities involved in
defined research projects, and independently conduct and analyze
experiments. The Martinez Lab is part of the Department of Chemical
and Systems Biology and of Developmental Biology and of the ChEM-H
Institute. Our lab is broadly interested in RNA-based mechanisms of
gene regulation. Our current research studies mechanisms and
functions of RNA modifications in mRNA processing and their roles
in development and disease. We use a combination of molecular
biology, RNA biochemistry, genomics, genetics, and systems biology.
We are enthusiastic about training, mentoring and working with the
next generation of scientists. We welcome colleagues with diverse
experiences, backgrounds, and skill sets. We are looking for
scientists who are curious about RNA and want to engage in
stimulating research in a supportive and inclusive environment.
The candidate will be responsible for helping manage the
laboratory, preforming experiments to assist in advancing lab
projects and will have the possibility of having an independent
project. This is an opportunity for a candidate to make significant
