Desktop Support Specialist

Job Description Job SummaryWorks within the vision, mission, and
philosophy of the agency. Provides daily support of desktop
computers in the agency. Works with helpdesk and network
administrationteams to resolve computer desktop issues, complete
computer installations, and maintain computer equipment.
Essential DutiesProvides internal desktop support by
troubleshooting. Resolves software and hardware issues.Provides
support and installation of client applications.Coordinates with
other Information Technology areas to resolve problems as
necessary.Performs installation, upgrade, and configuration of
desktop systems and network printers.Assembles and disassembles
computer stations and peripheral equipment when necessary.Provide
guidance to users and other team members in a patient and kind
manner.Tracks progress of work orders.Seeks and integrates
information from a wide variety of sources to resolve
issues.Performs other related responsibilities, as assigned, to
support specific department/business needs.
Education RequirementsHigh School Diploma or General Education
Development (GED) required.
Experience RequirementsMinimum one (1) year of experience
supporting Microsoft Windows desktops in a networked domain
environment required.Experience in the following technologies
required:Current Microsoft Windows workstation operating
systems.Microsoft Office applications.Desktop networking.
Licensing/Certification RequirementsMust pass Department of Justice
(DOJ), Federal Bureau of Investigations (FBI) checks. Child Abuse
Index Check (CAIC) background clearance, if required. Valid
California Driver's license with two years experience driving and
