Coda is building the productivity surface of the future. Delivering a high-quality product that functions the way we intend it to is critical to our success. We have an engineering team that moves fast, and we're constantly pushing updates to Coda while testing the limits of current browser capabilities.

We're looking for a process-oriented individual to play a key role in our overall product quality. This individual will become deeply versed in Coda's current offering and roadmap, and will provide regular product input on bugs, usability, stability, and more. The ideal candidate will have a strong passion for data-oriented products and the ability to derive strategic insights from large quantities of data. They will need to be able to get inside the mind of all sorts of Coda users - both consumer and enterprise - and test the product against the types of scenarios these users will create. The person will among other things oversee and steer the activities our manual testing team. That team is remote (near-shore and off-shore) and we are looking for someone with multiple years of experience managing a similar testing team.

He or she must be excited about the idea of constantly learning, and will have the opportunity to pick up new technical skills on the job and make a large impact on the product. Lastly, this person must be a perfectionist who obsesses about product quality - someone who is naturally diligent and creative in finding holes in the product.

Core Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and triage bugs and product limitations with development and product teams
  • Coordinate & automate the daily push process for the product
  • Manage manual testing team with responsibility for quality and costs with the goal of seeking out, reliably reproduce, and document defects before they impact customers
  • Work across all teams proactively adjust our testing strategy to incorporate upcoming product changes (e.g. features) or to enhance the security and robustness of our product
  • Coordinate with our customer champions team about current defects and fixes
  • Derive insights from reported defects to drive change, e.g. via test automation
  • Channel the mindset of a multiple user personas across different industries and build/test documents that these users might create
  • Aid Coda users who are having product issues
