The Zendesk Custom Data team is looking for a proven backend
engineer with experience in large scale systems to help craft and
build our next-gen custom data platform.
What you will enjoy doing:
Put the customer first and have quality in mind.
Collaborate with different teams to build a new platform to
unlock our data extensibility for our customers.
Work closely with product management when new features are being
considered by being an advocate for not impacting the performance
or quality of the existing product.
Participate in technical discussions and communicate your ideas
or vision to others. You thrive in dealing with sophisticated
problems, open to debates and brainstormings.
Collaborate with product managers, engineering managers, and
support advocates to estimate and prioritize units of work.
- Be responsible for the full release cycle from the development
What you bring to the role:
At least 5 years of proven background in building, scaling and
operating large backend infrastructures.
Proven experience in building object models, schema management,
object record management, and/ or rule engine.
Proficient with either Ruby, Java, or both.
- An ability to review and understand an unfamiliar language
would be preferred.
Nice to have:
Experience with Ruby is a plus
Experience with building RESTful API's is a plus.
Experience with agile development processes, working in a
fast-paced environment with continuous integration.
- Experience with Continuous Deployment systems like Travis,
Jenkins and Spinnaker
