Duties: Source open environmental and other data. Examine data
for completeness and assess quality. Develop statistical methods to
clean and fix data. Develop tools to provide scientists quick
access to the data, develop tools that enable visualization of the
data, develop the data and tools to be used in a cloud computing
environment. Make predictive models out of the data. Develop a
model to predict flood claims based on microwave remote sensing
data. Requires a Masters degree in Statistics, Analytics, or a
related field, plus 2 years of experience in a related occupation.
Requires 1 year of experience in all of the following: R
Programming language and writing dashboard utilities using Shiny
and Plotly; Using advanced R libraries for machine learning and
writing neural networks in TensorFlow; Python programming language
using web-based Jupyter notebooks; Docker containers and building
applications for distribution within these containers; Amazon Web
Services (AWS) or Google Cloud Compute utilities; XArray and DASK
for parallel compute capabilities in a cloud based compute
environment; and autoregressive conditional heteroskedasticity
(arch) time-series statistical model to analyze non-stationary
climate signals. 40 hours/week. Must also have authority to work
