As a whole, Gas Operations is responsible for all aspects of PG&E's gas distribution and transmission operations including planning, engineering, maintenance and construction, restoration, maintenance, and emergency response.-Position SummaryThe Senior Business System Specialist of Technology Strategy and Planning works within the Resource Management, Governance & Controls and Technology team in Gas Operations. The incumbent works with a cross functional group of stakeholders within Gas Operations, Enterprise Architecture, and IT, to create software application strategy and planning to meet the operational capabilities of the business. This position is responsible for establishing and maintaining consistent methods and practices for data collection, processing and reporting, within the Technology Strategy and Planning team. --The initial and primary focus of this position is on oversight of our internal processes, software application usage, systems, data management and general use of technology. It includes the support of project portfolios by enhancing and improving methods and practices for governing and managing the work. It includes the review of current processes and procedures to determine what can be automated or semi-automated, the use of databases and reporting that provide action-item lists and insights into the work and data.-We need someone who can provide innovate methods and practices to improve our own operations, systems, methods, and practices. The primary goal, for this position, is to provide visibility into our own systems, policies, and behaviors in order to improve operations, cut costs, and to increase productivity and efficiency.Position can be based out of San Ramon, CA and/or through remote access.--Job Responsibilities-

  • Analysis of current methods, practices, processes and procedures to determine efficient and effective improvements
  • Create efficient and effective information and data collection methods and practices
  • Management of information technology systems, software and data
  • Create and/or configure data and system tracking applications/tools to support financial and project portfolio management.-
  • Responsible for SharePoint workflow and form conversion from SharePoint on premises to SharePoint Online. This will require the use of the Microsoft App PowerAutomate
  • Understand and use Microsoft PowerApps to support job responsibilities
  • Cross train with other team members for support and backup purposes
  • Gap analysis; problem solving facilitation; population of data spreadsheets-
  • Interact with IT on specific software configuration and development
  • Engagement with Enterprise Architecture and IT for estimates & Solution proposals-
  • Analyze end-to-end, moderate to high complexity business processes in one or more business functional areas.-
  • Understand the current and future business environment of the organization and effectively anticipate, identify and meet the business needs-
  • Manage Microsoft PowerApps usage and authorizations for Gas Ops--QualificationsMinimum:-
    • 4 years of job-related experience in Business, Project and Process Management, IT or Engineering fields.-
    • Oversight, management and participation in information technologies and projects of medium to high complexity.-
    • BA/BS in business, engineering, computer science, information systems etc. or equivalent work experience--Desired:-
      • Management of prior technology systems, networks, equipment, software and services.
      • Microsoft MCP, Cisco CCNA and other systems certifications.
      • Proficient in Microsoft Office product suite and SharePoint Broad expertise in business systems and data analysis and very knowledgeable about the business requirements process.-
      • Detail oriented, analytical, good oral and written communication skills.
      • Experience with data management, cyber security, and IT and electronic data operations-
      • Ability to work with different teams across disciplines and levels.-
      • Senior-level knowledge and working experience with multiple corresponding Line of Business-related functional areas.-
      • Knowledge of system process management; i.e. Lean, Six Sigma or similar methods-
      • Technical experience in tracking and presenting ongoing metrics, such as budget reporting, creation of dashboards (PowerBI, Tableau or other)-
      • May assist with writing functional specifications documents.--
