Job Description: JOB SUMMARY: Provide maintenance of data, records, and files necessary to provide servicing to the assigned client team or department. This position will perform duties as a lead relating to the implementation, and management of all aspects of document control and records management throughout the information lifecycle for physical or electronic records. RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Evaluates current active records system for compliance by taking inventories and reviewing information retrieval needs
• Monitor and listen to customers to understand inquiries and requests in order to provide accurate information about the firm's records and prompt assistance
• Coordinates information creation, receipt, storage retrieval and disposition
• Ensures security and preservation of records in records centers and inactive records
• Works with departments on special information research and retrieval projects to ensure that all information needs are met
• Exhibit excellence in customer service and the ability to serve others
• Ensures application of retention schedules to inactive records. Answer verbal, telephone, written and E- mail inquiries, regarding records requests in an efficient manner
• Prepare new files within the records system guidelines

  • Ability to routinely stand, bend and stretch QUALIFICATIONS:
    • 3+ years' experience in law firm records management
    • Prior supervisory experience (preferred)
    • Previous experience utilizing legal-specific records management systems (preferred)
    • High School Diploma or equivalent (4 years of college preferred)
    • Ability to lift or move 40 lbs. or greater
    • Fine and/or gross motor skills, including the ability to grasp, lift and/or carry or otherwise move packages on a standard wheeled cart with a load capacity of 100lbs
    • Ability to walk, bend, kneel, stand, and/or sit for an extended period of time
    • Manual dexterity required for operating office machinery (phone, copy machines, binding equipment, etc)
    • Working knowledge of Microsoft products pertaining to the specific position including but not limited to Outlook, Word, and Excel etc.
    • clearly so listeners understand, identify and understand the speech of another person
    • Strong initiative required; ability to work independently with minimal direct supervision
    • Strong computer and database skills
