The Leadership Annual Giving Officer is a critical member of USF
Development's fundraising team. Reporting to the Associate Athletic
Director of Development and Leadership Annual Giving, the
Leadership Annual Giving Officer works as a field fundraiser
soliciting high-end annual gifts between $1,000 and $10,000. This
position will cultivate, solicit, and steward new and existing
donors at these levels, and will also create and manage fundraising
campaigns for target groups and efforts.Full Job
Description:PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESThe--Leadership
Annual Giving Officer--is a front-line fundraiser focused on
raising annual support while qualifying and identifying prospects
for future, long-term engagement. You will develop and implement
fundraising strategies, create and execute fundraising campaigns,
and assist with designing and managing language for related print
and email appeals for targeted groups.You will partner with
colleagues and volunteers toward achieving monetary and
participation goals. You will participate in periodic prospect
meetings with other frontline fundraisers, alumni engagement staff,
and other teams. As a representative of the university, you will
become an expert on USF; continually building your knowledge of the
university, its schools, and its programs.As a member of the Annual
Giving team, the--Leadership Annual Giving Officer--supports the
larger goals and projects of USF Development, including some
evening and weekend work on high-profile engagement events.
Frequent travel is required. Key duties and responsibilities
include: -- Work with a portfolio of assigned prospects/donors to
cultivate, solicit, and steward their support. -- Meets specific
number goals in four key areas: upgrading current donors,
generating gifts from new prospects, qualifying and handing off
appropriate donors and stewarding leadership donors. -- Establish
ongoing relationships with individual donors through personal
visits, phone calls, and meaningful contacts. -- Steward and manage
established relationships to maximize engagement, renew annual
giving, and present new opportunities for further engagement. --
Implement and manage programs to involve targeted populations in
fundraising and volunteer activities. -- Design and manage
communications (e.g., mail, email, video, phone, and other
channels) to maximize fundraising potential. -- Maintains a high
level of field, online, mail, and phone activity each week --
Manages a prospect list of 150-200 individuals capable of making
annual gifts at the annual leadership giving level. -- Works
cooperatively and strategically with development colleagues
including the rest of the annual giving team as well as major
gifts, prospect research, stewardship, engagement, and other teams.
-- Work with the Director of Major Gifts and Major Gifts Officers
to ensure clear communication and integration with the Major Gifts
program. -- Develop fundraising strategies, and track and analyze
results of development activities. -- Identify and prioritize
prospects, make volunteer prospect assignments, prepare background
material for solicitations, and follow up with volunteers to ensure
completion of assigned solicitations. -- Becomes an expert on the
various entities and activities that annual giving supports as well
as other programs at USF for which gifts are being sought or that
may be of interest to donors. -- Recommends new approaches,
procedures and processes to effect continual improvements in
efficiency of department and services performed. -- Other duties as
assigned.QUALIFICATIONS -- A minimum of a bachelor's degree with a
preference for candidates who have advanced degrees. --
Demonstrated experience with fundraising. A preference of 1-2 years
of progressive and successful development experience. -- Ability to
understand the needs and interest of donors in order to develop
relationships between them and the University. -- Excellent written
and oral communication skills, including demonstrated writing and
editing skills in the preparation of proposals, and in the drafting
of related correspondence, often for the signature of institutional
leaders. -- Stellar relationship building skills and ability to
build rapport with internal and external stakeholders around
innovative ideas and programs. -- Commitment to appropriate use of
sensitive and confidential constituent data. -- Familiarity with
relevant privacy laws. -- Excellent time management and follow-up
skills. -- Ability to work well under deadline and to manage
multiple projects simultaneously. -- Ability to establish and
achieve quantified objectives.-- -- Ability to work independently
and as part of a team. -- Ability to travel around the region and
to other areas of the country. -- Must have a valid driver's
