The San Francisco Operation's Account Engineering Department in
Walnut Creek has an immediate opening for an Account Engineer I.
The account engineer coordinates and manages the delivery of FM
Global engineering products and services to our clients and is an
integral member of the client service team. San Francisco

Responsibilities: On an account wide and corporate basis, the
Account Engineer coordinates and manages the delivery of FM Global
engineering resources and servicing to our clients. The Account
Engineer will review global risk information and accurately
evaluate and assess the nature, probability, and severity of loss
potential. This assessment is communicated to the client/prospect
and client service team. He/She will prioritize exposures
identified through the risk assessment process and ensure that the
client understands the hazard and risk associated with these
exposures and will work with the client to gain agreement on
effective risk improvement solutions. As a key member of the Client
Service Team, the Account Engineer contributes to the execution of
the Client Service Process.
These contributions include assisting in development and
implementation of Client Service Strategies and Plans and preparing
and presenting Stewardship presentations. Through teamwork with FM
Global field engineers, client services personnel, claims, new
business development, business risk consulting group, etc., the
Account Engineer provides a responsive service with innovative
solutions to challenges, which will foster long-term customer
The Account Engineer is the first point of contact for the
client for all engineering products and services. This position
requires a high degree of proficiency in building and maintaining
client relationships. The Account Engineer is to be seen as a
trusted advisor in matters of property loss prevention.
Qualifications: The position requires a Bachelors degree in
Engineering or Applied Science or equivalent experience. Qualified
candidates should have a minimum of three (3) years experience in
facility hazards field engineering or related industry experience.
A basic understanding of equipment hazards and/or additional field
experience is a plus.
The successful candidate will have strong communication skills,
along with the ability to analyze data and develop risk
assessment/risk improvement plans. The applicant must also have
proven negotation skills and be team oriented and decisive, with
excellent problem-solving skills. Effective organization and time
management skills are also very important.
