Job Announcement Janitor Position: Janitor Program: Operations
Reports to: Operations Assistant Director Compensation: $23 per
hour. Full-time, non-exempt position. Benefits include medical,

following video . Primary responsibilities Sweep and mop floors.
Clean buildings by emptying trash, sweeping, and cleaning surfaces.
Clean and disinfect frames of beds, tables, chairs, and other
furniture on a weekly basis. Monitor building security and safety
by performing such tasks as locking doors after operating hours and
checking electrical appliance use to ensure that hazards are not
created. Use the less toxic or nontoxic cleaning solutions to
remove stains and clean surfaces. Clean windows, bed partitions,
and mirrors, using nontoxic products, sponges, and squeegees. Dust
furniture and scrub surfaces clean. Clean and service restrooms
with mops and disinfectants. Move equipment and furniture when
necessary. Identify and report possible repairs. Carry out heavy
cleansing tasks and special projects. Notify management of
occurring deficiencies or needs for repairs. Stock and maintain
supply rooms. Follow all health and safety regulations. Other
Organizational Duties Conduct business in accordance with the
Mission Action Employee Handbook, exercising sound judgment and
serving the best interests of the agency and the community Work
within the framework of the agency’s mission, vision, values,

and language justice. Commit yourself to treating each community
member with respect and dignity. Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications and Experience Desired Proven working experience as
a janitor. Ability to handle janitorial equipment in a professional
manner. Knowledge of cleaning with supplies and nontoxic products
Integrity and ability to work independently. Be able to communicate
with English, spoken and written. Organized, detail oriented. Basic
computer knowledge, ability to use Windows and Microsoft Office
