Company is looking for an enterprising leader to lead our IT Strategy, Planning and Governance organization. This leader must support continuous growth and learning across the organization while achieving business goals by developing processes, strategies, business plans, road-maps, and other assets and also contribute to the overall IT leadership team. What’s cool about this job The VP of IT, Strategy Planning and Governance is an influential role which provides technology strategy and program leadership for the company. This role champions principles and techniques to ensure we are creating an integrated, robust eco-system which is responsive to change and supports the delivery of the business strategy. Specifically, this role guides company-wide current and long-term technology portfolio choices and leads the processes to develop, evolve and express these plans through an integrated set of methods and tools. Key responsibilities include: Strategic Planning - the process by which the executive leadership across the IT function establishes the long-term direction of the organization. Key tasks include assessing the company’s environment and resources, defining the mission and vision, identifying priorities and objectives, and selecting valuable strategies. o Develops plans that support and introduce solutions for strategic issues that impact the company o Aligns processes, resources-planning and department goals with overall strategy o Conducts organizational reviews to identify strengths, weaknesses, and opportunities. Also, evaluates the operational effectiveness of available resources vis-à-vis those plans o The strategic planner also provides support to identify and asses strategic issues, facilitate strategic discussion, and manage strategic initiatives o Responsibilities include providing support to the CIO, creating presentations, speeches, and outlines, performing competitive-analysis and monitoring industry trends and company news. Provide leadership in annual/quarterly/monthly AOP planning processes, coordinates and reports on overall IT portfolio of programs in utilization of IT throughout the corporation including significant interaction with the functional leadership of the Company in developing IT strategy and providing outstanding service to the various business units to help them meet their objectives. Technology Business Management – leveraging a strong technology and financial management background, help implement and operationalize a Technology Business Management solution designed to position executives with the knowledge to manage and communicate the cost, quality, and value of IT Services o Driving the annual business planning process for IT o Providing management reporting and analytics services for the IT Leadership Team Develops and recommends budget, monitors approved budget, notes deviations, and initiates correct actions in order to control costs and report to top management on performance and planning efforts. Applies the TBM Framework to establish and run an effective TBM program Determines which aspects of the TBM taxonomy we will use to organize around and communicate to Finance and the other business functions through. In partnership with corporate finance stablishes an operational TBM Model for mapping and allocating costs and resource consumption from source to consumption, powering reporting and metrics that can be used for effective business decisions and value management Centralized management of the portfolio of IT spending. Shapes investment decisions Catalyst across IT to help other leaders become more valuable business partners while driving financial agility and asset leverage Represents business interests back to IT to ensure business goals are supported by IT spending and investments Manages IT financial reporting and supporting processes such as budgeting, forecasting, IT asset management to provide a solid foundation for TBM Vendor Management Office – the function responsible for evaluating IT suppliers and overseeing regular interaction and long-term relationships with vendors toward the aim of optimizing spend, service excellence and risk. Perform as a functional bridge amongst external vendors and internal stakeholders Coordinate vendor processes and methods to approve and manage vendors Ensure enterprise-wide needs for diligence, risk assessment and continuing vendor monitoring are being accomplished Track, measure, report and evaluate vendor performance Collaborate with IT and business functions to assure vendors are effectively managed and contracts are completely, and efficiency leveraged Monitor contractual agreements for all IT vendors ensuring compliance and optimizing timing for renewals and renegotiations Identify, implement and continuously enhance efficiencies associated with vendor management Project Management Office – The function responsible for defining and maintaining standards for project management (process, methods, metrics, etc) with the organization and applying those standards and methods to ensure effective program delivery across the organization Track and manage the entire portfolio of projects across the organization Plan resources (staff, contractors, CapEx, OpEx, etc) at the portfolio level, optimize the use of resources and solve resource conflicts Standardize methods and processes in project management Select, implement and train employees on applicable tools and software Ensure compliance with project management policies and processes Provide a process for resource allocation and capacity management across the organization Provide transparency of current and planned projects through an up-to-date “dash board” by project, program and across all programs to communicate and track progress and challenges Skills: Excellent partnering and collaboration skills Exceptional communication, both written & verbal; that includes very good listening skills and an open attitude and acceptance to coaching and being coached Ability to evangelize and educate on process, strategy, and investments to achieve the enterprise business and application strategy Ability to manage a global team including vendor resources Negotiation skills and ability to manage to tight budgets A history of success and learning from past experiences Ability to multi-task in an ever-changing environment Superior leadership, team building, and team motivation skills Ability to identify and solve problems creatively without guidance Excellent business acumen and strategic thinking Budget planning and forecasting and managing expenses to plan Qualifications: A minimum of 15 years of experience in IT Management with increasing responsibilities Experience as a business focused, change driven, credible leader in a complex and a large enterprise Demonstrated organization and team building skills Bachelor of Science Degree in Business or Computer Science; or equivalent, MBA a plus Proven project management expertise TBM, PMP, ITIL certification desirable Ability to travel up to 50%
