Walmart Inc., a leader in global retail, is seeking a highly skilled Principal Software Engineer to lead our IT initiatives and contribute to our data management strategies. Based in Bentonville, Arkansas, this role is crucial for driving innovation and excellence in technological solutions that enhance our retail and operational processes. The Principal Software Engineer will collaborate with IT leaders to design, develop, and implement software solutions that align with Walmart's business goals and technological advancements. This position is pivotal in transforming our IT landscape, ensuring robust, scalable, and efficient systems. Design and develop high-quality, scalable software solutions that meet both functional and technical standards. Lead cross-functional teams in the design, development, and implementation of technological projects. Evaluate system specifications and requirements to design robust solutions. Provide architectural blueprints and technical leadership to IT project teams. Develop software verification plans and quality assurance procedures. Mentor junior software engineers and conduct code reviews. Ensure software and system scalability, security, and sustainability. Stay updated with emerging technologies and industry trends to incorporate into IT solutions. Expertise in software development, system architecture, and project management. Strong programming skills in multiple languages such as Java, Python, or C#. Proficiency in cloud technologies, microservices, and containerization (e.g., AWS, Kubernetes). Experience with both relational and non-relational database systems. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Excellent leadership and team management abilities.
