Lead Software Engineer I (Java), Alerts Platform

Company: ThousandEyes
Location: San Francisco
Posted on: April 3, 2024

Job Description:

Who We Are
The name ThousandEyes was born from two big ideas: the power to see things not ordinarily possible and the ability to collect insights from a multitude of vantage points. As the world continues its digital transformation and relies more on cloud services and the Internet, the "network," which is now both public and private, has become a black box our customers cannot see or understand.
Our Internet and cloud intelligence platform delivers the only collectively powered real-time view of the Internet and private networks, cloud, and SaaS platforms, helping enterprises and service providers identify problems before they impact revenue, damage brand reputation, or halt employee productivity.
In August 2020, Cisco Systems completed the acquisition of ThousandEyes, which now forms the ThousandEyes Business Unit within the Cisco Networking Business Group and is the Network Assurance solution for Cisco across the Cisco Networking Cloud and Cisco Security Cloud. ThousandEyes is also a foundational component of Cisco's growing Full-Stack Observability ("FSO") business.
About The Role
The Alerts team focuses on building a highly scalable stream processing platform to detect anomalies and provide actionable insights to our customers. We work on problems such as providing granular and intuitive controls to configure alerting rules, and building and deploying multiple stream processing platforms. We use technologies such as Flink, Kafka, Debezium, Elasticache etc. to execute multiple complex rules and statistical models to detect anomalies across billions of events. As part of this team, you will contribute to the real-time data platform, build microservices that power critical business workflows, make sure systems are operational, and adhere to strict SLAs.
Alerts platform is critical for our customers to act on potential problems in their mission-critical systems. If you are very passionate about working on huge amounts of data and love seeing them turn into powerful insights to help improve the quality of the internet, this is your team!
What You'll Do
Do you want to make an impact on a team that supports multiple products? As a lead software engineer on our team, you'll be at the forefront of innovation! Your role involves building a real-time data processing platform that handles tons of data daily, pushing the impossible into reality. Dive into the exciting realm of machine learning as you develop innovative anomaly detection algorithms, ensuring we stay ahead of the curve in identifying alerts. Your expertise will shine as you construct high-performance micro-services, contributing to the speed and accuracy of alert events. Get ready to embrace challenges and make a lasting impact where your coding skills truly make a difference!
