As a Senior Software Engineer, you will partner with product managers to implement eligibility and identity solutions that will impact all Rally Health products. You will be working with Scala, Play, PostgreSQL, MongoDB, Redis, Kafka, and AWS to build a world-class, cloud-native eligibility platform while meeting product needs. As long as you are interested in learning Scala, we will teach and support you to become effective quickly with Scala. As part of the larger Core Eligibility Engineering team, you will report to an engineering manager. Primary Responsibilities: Develop database models using SQL, PostgreSQL and MongoDB Communicate on software design with engineering leadership Manage code changes using Git and GitHub Perform code review using GitHub Architect and develop authorization and eligibility solutions for both web and mobile applications Participate in the full software development lifecycle, including development, code reviews, testing and production Work with product managers to understand the features, do technical assessment and costing, design, code, test and deliver Support live-site with production debugging and track down causes and fix them in systematic ways Build scalable and secure systems Write production quality code You'll be rewarded and recognized for your performance in an environment that will challenge you and give you clear direction on what it takes to succeed in your role as well as provide development for other roles you may be interested in. Required Qualifications: BS in Computer Science, Engineering or similar area 4 years of experience with Java or C# and interest in learning Scala 2 years of experience with production debugging and to track down causes and fix them in systematic ways 1 years of experience with distributed systems and application design in a SOA environment Experience with high-scale performance and optimization tools and techniques Experience with database concepts (both NoSQL and RDBMS) Experience with computing concepts including API design, creating, fault tolerance, available and scalable distributed systems, multithreaded programming, performance tuning, and security To protect the health and safety of our workforce, patients and communities we serve, UnitedHealth Group and its affiliate companies now require all employees to disclose COVID-19 vaccination status prior to beginning employment. The salary range for Connecticut / Nevada residents is $87,900 to $156,900. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, UnitedHealth Group offers benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements).
