Job Description:

The position is with a best-in-class client in Mtn View/SF, CA Area. Our client is in a search for a Java Backend Developer to work closely on a few of Machine Learning use cases and build robust Tier 1 Micro-services in Java, Python, and work heavily with vendor platform APIs. ResponsibilitiesOur client's team is building out services around a machine learning use case to support user personalization. We are a cross-functional team with growth engineers building experiments, the platform to support experimentation, and data engineers building the data pipeline engine to make everything possible.

• You will join our team as a backend software engineer with expertise in building robust tier 1 microservices in Java, Python, and work heavily with vendor platform APIs
• You are passionate about continuous learning, experimenting, mathematics, and general reasoning, given those are going to be your peers on key projects - experimenters, data engineers, and data scientists.
• You should also be able to pursue and resolve complex or unchartered technical problems and be able to share
• Strong candidates will be able to work well with a variety of teams across the client's marketing community, including web dev, data engineering, data scientists, PM, and business leaders
  Our ideal candidate: On your first day, we'll expect you to have:
  • 5+ years of industry experience working as a Backend Software Engineer
  • Specialization in Java, Spring Framework and Python
  • MUST HAVE - Proven understanding of micro-services oriented architecture and extensible REST APIs
  • Understanding of SaaS, PaaS, IaaS industry with hands-on experience with public or private cloud offerings (e.g., AWS, GAE, Azure)
  • Fluency in any one database technology (e.g. RDBMS like Oracle or Postgres and/or NoSQL like DynamoDB or Cassandra)
  • Knowledge to evaluate trade-offs between correctness, robustness, performance, space and time
    Qualification:
    • Bachelor's Degree (Must)
    • Experience with large scale distributed systems
    • Practical knowledge of agile software development methodologies (e.g., XP, scrum)
    • Experience with continuous delivery and infrastructure as code
