PLANT / ALLISON CORPORATION Human Resource Generalist Plant Construction Company, L.P. is an award---winning commercial construction company with an annual volume of approximately $350m and headquartered in San Francisco. We would like to add a Human Resource Generalist to our team. The ideal candidate will be reliable and trustworthy with an ability to work within established policies, procedures and guidelines of the Company while maintaining confidentiality and fiscal integrity. Position Title: HR Generalist Reports To: In-House Counsel Location: San Francisco Responsibilities and Duties: Under the direction of company executives, this position will provide the human resources support to the organization. Employee Engagement & Management Maintain personnel files as related to human resources, hiring, promotions, and performance documentation Provide marketing and payroll departments with updated employee information, such as position and title changes Exercise the interactive process with employees who request a reasonable accommodation Work with managers to conduct annual performance reviews Work with in-house counsel to ensure that any ongoing employee issues or internal investigations are progressing as needed Track new hire and turnover statistics for upper management Work with the safety department in relation to workers compensation, modified duties availability, and managing the return to work process. Develop, implement and maintain a Companywide Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI) Policy Perform periodic internal pay equity audits using data within the payroll system and with the assistance of outside resources, such as employment attorneys, to ensure EEO compliance Employment Law Review employee handbook and policies in accordance with law updates for both non-union and union personnel Track and enforce ongoing online harassment prevention and DEI training programs for all employees, which are provided online or in person Attend seminars/conferences and view webinars as needed to keep up to date on current issues Investigate and handle employee disputes or concerns in a timely manner, adhering to harassment and anti-bullying laws Educate employees about their rights and responsibilities regarding leave laws, eligibility and form completion, as well as notify the payroll department with supporting documentation of any leave pay due Perform employee background checks through Live Scan, Hire Right or other sources as needed per client contract Ensure that the safety department has updated city, county, state and federal required posters for home office and jobsites Onboarding / Offboarding Oversee new employee onboarding for new hire paperwork and benefit enrollments Forward payroll related new hire paperwork to the payroll department for setup or update in the accounting system Initiate the onboarding process for new hires and off boarding process for exiting employees Provide on boarded employees with required EDD brochures and notices Provide off boarded employees with required EDD notices, change of status form, and COBRA/benefit information Notify the payroll department of employee terminations, resignations and retirements to ensure timely payment of final checks, expenses and PTO balances Provide guidance to managers regarding layoffs, terminations, warning letters and performance improvement plans (PIP) Recruiting Oversee and track all of the Company---s recruiting efforts Post ads for open positions, review resumes and forward eligible candidate information to hiring managers Work with the hiring committee on interviewing and recruiting new talent Create and regularly update job descriptions per industry specs and hiring manager design and include physical requirements for work comp purposes Oversee internship program, schedule career fairs, screen candidates, handle phone interviews, prepare offer letters, coordinate evaluations and jobsite placements Write new hire offer letters for CEO to sign, then send to potential candidates with benefit summary Assist hiring managers with initial candidate screenings if requested and coordinate interview schedules Monitor recruiting budgets, efforts and expenditures and work with recruiters as needed Benefits Work with upper management to create an effective and competitive benefit package Provide the payroll department with updated enrollment information so that benefit premiums can be withheld from weekly checks Organize orientation meetings for new and existing 401(k) participants as needed Organize due diligence reviews with plan administrators and fiduciaries for the 401(k) profit sharing Maintain the annual employee census as needed by brokers Work with brokers to file the annual 5500 reports Immigration Work with immigration attorneys to prepare and file work authorization paperwork for foreign national employees Review resumes and complete associated forms and spreadsheet for PERM process recruiting phase Minimum Skills or Experience Requirements: Bachelor degree required Five years of prior human resources experience required Proficient use of MS Office required Adobe Acrobat and Outlook 365 experience Knowledge of city, state and federal employment and leave laws Human resources certification preferred Able to handle confidential information with a high degree of discretion and professionalism Proven organizational skills and strong attention to detail Effective interpersonal skills and strong work ethic Excellent English language verbal and written communication skills We are an Equal Opportunity Employer, offers a highly competitive salary and benefits package and has an excellent record of employee retention.
