Job Description:

We are a growing SaaS company looking for a knowledgeable Payroll Specialist that will ensure accurate processing and recording of company payrolls, provide timely and accurate financial information, and manage all cycles relating to payroll and benefits. The right fit for this role is someone that is able to do more than use payroll software with accuracy and efficiency, they are someone with great communication skills that displays urgency and empathy when addressing questions and concerns from employees. Beyond being good with numbers and trusted with sensitive information, we are eager to have someone join our team that is responsive, organized, and has incredible attention to detail.

  • Manage payroll process that includes importing, proofing, editing, processing and transmitting all payroll wages, deductions, reimbursements, bonuses, commissions, and manual payments consistent with federal and state wage and hour laws
  • Perform specific duties related to insurance plans, 401k, and flexible spending accounts reconciliation of accounts, timely vendor payments
  • Perform updates to payroll-related information and data and manage overall payroll workflow
  • Ensure timely processing of all new hires, promotions and terminations for our SlingShot product division, which includes a high volume call center
  • Analyze and audit payroll data for accuracy of posting
  • Handle time sensitive items related to wage garnishments, employment verification requests, staff departments and rate changes
  • Address issues and questions regarding payroll from employees and superiors
  • Prepare reports for upper management, finance department etc.

            • 3-5 years proven experience as payroll specialist or payroll manager
            • A two year or higher college degree is required
            • Experience with a HRIS such as Namely or ADP is required
            • Experience with Microsoft Excel is required
            • Experience with Namely is a plus
            • Solid understanding of accounting fundamentals and payroll best practices
            • Very good knowledge of legislation and regulations of the payroll field
            • Experience with benefits administration is a plus but not mandatory
            • Trustworthy with attention to confidentiality
            • Outstanding organizational ability with great attention to detail
            • Exceptional Time Management skills - you understand what to prioritize, and never miss a deadline
            • Excellent communication skills
            • Multi State payroll processing experience
            • Excellent customer service skills - you understand the importance of providing exceptional service when employees reach out for assistance.
            • BA/S in business, accounting or relevant field is mandatory (or equivalent years of experience)
