Job Description:

Performance Foodservice is seeking a reliable and experienced CDL Class A Route Driver to join our dedicated team in transporting our extensive range of food and related products reliably and safely across the United States. As an integral part of our logistics team, you will play a crucial role in maintaining the strong reputation we have built by ensuring timely and safe delivery of goods, adhering to transportation laws and regulations, and driving with the utmost safety and efficiency. Operate a tractor-trailer or truck to transport goods efficiently while complying with federal, state, and local regulations. Perform pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure the vehicle is safe and report any maintenance issues. Accurately complete paperwork including logs, mileage, and cargo information. Coordinate with the logistics team to plan routes that optimize delivery schedules. Maintain communication with dispatch and respond to any changes in schedule or route in a timely manner. Ensure the security of cargo, manage loading and unloading processes, and verify delivery instructions and paperwork. Provide excellent customer service during delivery, representing Performance Foodservice professionally at all times. Ability to maneuver and operate a tractor-trailer or large truck. Strong time management and navigation skills. Basic understanding of mechanical systems to report issues or perform minor repairs. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to remain calm and efficient under pressure. Good physical condition and stamina. Medical Insurance Dental Insurance Vision Insurance 401k Valid Class A Commercial Driver’s License (CDL-A). DOT medical card.
