The Infection Control Nurse Supervisor will work in a non profit Medical Center that has been serving the surrounding community for over 80 years. The Infection Prevention RN Coordinator will be part of the most respected and technologically advanced hospital with the area's finest physicians on staff.
Utilizing epidemiological methods, the Infection Control Nurse Supervisor will work under the general direction of the Administrative Director of Quality Improvement. The RN Coordinator of Infection Control will coordinate infection surveillance, education, administrative, and control measures to assure that the transmission risks and complications of infections and infectious diseases are minimized to medical center clients, personnel, and visitors.
In this role, the Nurse Supervisor of Infection Control will be required to function in a wide array of Coordinatorial behaviors including statistician, educator, consultant, improvement coordinator, and evaluator of practice. The Infection Prevention Coordinator will be conversant with the infection hazards of all patient care services in order to be able to recommend and evaluate the effect of prevention strategies.
The Nurse Supervisor of Infection Prevention must be fully knowledgeable with all existing and emerging regulations and guidelines specific to the protection of patients and staff from preventable infection events. The Infection Control RN Coordinator will be trained and capable in epidemiological methods to detect infections and infection hazards.
With the emphasis on improvement and publicly reported data the Infection Control Nurse Coordinator will possess a heightened ability to provide statistical analysis of data, be knowledgeable regarding NHSN data management and evaluate and implement prevention strategies. The three goals for the Infection Control RN Supervisor are to: Protect the patient, Protect the Healthcare Worker, visitors, and others in the healthcare environment; and accomplish the previous two goals in a cost-effective manner, whenever possible.
Serving the greater Central Valley with 400 plus acute care beds, the hospital provides a full continuum of care including 24-hour emergency care, inpatient and outpatient surgery, obstetrics, pediatrics, nuclear medicine, dialysis therapy, diagnostic imaging, intensive care, physical therapy, and home health.
