Healthcare Programs Manager For more than 40 years, JVS (Jewish Vocational Service) has strengthened our Bay Area community by helping Bay Area job seekers to build in-demand skills and confidence, make connections and secure work within a career pathway. The Healthcare Departments offers numerous training programs for entry and mid-career healthcare roles such as Medical Administrative Assistant, Medical Assistant, Dental Assistant, Veterinary Assistant, etc. Principal Relationships:

  • Reports to: Assistant Director of Healthcare
  • Collaborates with: Healthcare team (e.g., Director, Senior Manager, other Healthcare team members), healthcare employers, and community partners
  • Supervises: Healthcare Program Coordinators Scope: JVS's healthcare training programs consist of contextualized classroom training followed by an internship or work-based learning experience. In close collaboration with other team members and employer partners, the Healthcare Programs Manager (Manager) will:
    • Manage healthcare programs to meet performance goals and contract objectives
    • Partner with employers and training institutions to develop training programs
    • Provide guidance and supervision to direct reports
    • Contribute to program development and strategic planning Qualifications and competencies Minimum Competencies
      • Drives to outcomes: Ability to plan, implement, monitor and evaluate programs; meet deadlines and objectives and manage multiple priorities simultaneously; work independently as well as in a team in a very fast-paced, performance-oriented environment, and have excellent organizational skills with attention to detail.

      • Builds strong relationships: Demonstrates ability to work in a multi-cultural environment with diverse staff, employer partners, and educational institutions;
      • Demonstrates emotional intelligence: Resilient, introspective, empathetic and optimistic. Able to operate effectively in ambiguous situations. Preferred Competencies
        • Expertise in contract management
        • Familiarity with Bay Area healthcare jobs and career pathways
        • Familiarity with Minimum Qualifications
          • Experience managing multiple staff and programs simultaneously
          • Experience planning, implementing, monitoring and evaluating programs
          • Experience tracking and reporting outcomes
          • A./B.S. degree in relevant field or equivalent experience Preferred Qualifications
            • Experience with change management
            • Experience developing programs with multiple community partners
            • A./M.S. degree in relevant field PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES/ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
              • Oversees multiple healthcare training programs. In close partnership with employer partners and educational institutions, supports Program Coordinators to conduct outreach, and recruit, implement, monitor and evaluate programs.
              • Directly supervises healthcare staff. Provides feedback on an ongoing basis.
              • Manages data collection, integrity and funder compliance for multiple healthcare programs.
              • Analyzes data and trends, and prepares internal and external reports.
              • Participates in healthcare leadership team and contributes to strategic planning and development of the Healthcare department budget and individual program budgets.
              • Participates in agency-wide strategic and operational planning.
              • Represents JVS at various meetings, and conferences. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS OF THE POSITION (Candidate should be able to do the following, with or without accommodation)
                • This position will be working in a typical office setting, with no extremes in temperature or lighting
                • Able to travel and present at offsite locations in the Bay Area
                • Able to transport/carry presentation materials
