Our multi-specialty medical group is comprised of over 1,600 clinicians practicing in seven counties in northern California, most within a 50-mile radius of Sacramento. SMG contains primary care and specialty Physicians and Advanced Practice Clinicians nurse practitioners, physician assistants, certified nurse midwives, licensed clinical social workers and licensed marriage and family therapists, who make up about 20% of our group. Community Information Benicia, California, is a historic city located in Solano County on the north bank of the Carquinez Strait in the San Francisco Bay Area. As of the 2020 United States Census, the population was 27,131. History Established in 1847, Benicia served as the capital of California from 1853 to 1854.
