Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Oncology Clinic Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Day Hours per Shift: 8 Experience: - Minimum of 3 years of RN experience - 2 years of experience in an acute care setting, such as medical-surgical or ICU - 1 year of oncology experience - Recent ambulatory experience License: - Current RN license in California Certifications: - Basic Life Support (BLS) - Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) Must-Have: - Must be able to float to other facilities - IV experience and ability to safely move and transfer patients Description: This position involves caring for acute admitted inpatients as well as ambulatory patients. The nurse will be responsible for inpatient care and for calling and receiving reports on admitted patients. The nurse will work with ambulatory patients and address any needs that arise. Patients may require total lift assistance. Experience in radiation oncology and wound care management is preferred. The clinic handles varying solid tumor diagnoses. Patients may be undergoing concurrent chemotherapy treatments, considering treatment options after a new diagnosis, or receiving follow-up care after radiation. The unit utilizes various treatment modalities, including external beam and internal high-dose rate therapy.
