evaluations to devise personalized treatment plans tailored to each
pet's specific needs. Whether it's chemotherapy, cryotherapy,
immunotherapy, radiation therapy, surgery, or a combination of
approaches, our goal remains the same: to provide the best possible
care while maintaining the pet's quality of life.About the
job:Oncology team members work side-by-side with our Veterinary
Oncologists treating cancers like osteosarcoma, lymphoma, melanoma,
and many more.Shift available: 4/10's, coverage needed
Monday-Saturday. Saturday flexibility required.Compensation range:
$26-$40 hourly plus shift differentials. Sign-On bonus up to
$3,000!Duties include:
- In-patient medical care- administer medications, assist or
perform treatments, diagnostics & monitoring, place IV catheters,
draw blood, run lab tests, administer IV fluids, cleaning, feeding,
and walking patients as needed
- Anesthesia/Surgery - Prep, induction, maintenance, monitoring,
recovery of patients, cleans/maintains/sterilize anesthesia
equipment and surgical instruments
- Laboratory duties- collecting, preparing, & running or
submitting samples for requested tests; reading and recording
results when indicated when requested by doctor.
- Client communication for hospitalized patients - give patient
updates, discharge instructions, and provide follow up for certain
hospital patients
- Client medical demonstrations / education - teach/educate
clients
- Ability to stay calm and efficient during a medical crisis
- Medication and IV infusion preparation and administration
- Safe and effective patient handling and restraint
- Medical recordkeepingThe ideal candidate:
- Minimum of 3 years experience in veterinary medicine
required
- RVT license preferred but not required
- Oncology experience preferred
- Ability to work in a fast paced setting
- Strong venipuncture and catheter placement skillBenefits:Full
