The Elmariah lab is now recruiting for an Associate Specialist.
Successful applicant will have an interest and experience in
conducting research relating to systems of care and disparities in
the delivery of care. Specifically, investigations will focus on
gender, racial, and ethnic disparities in the management of heart
valve disease. The successful applicant will develop research
proposals to evaluate the efficacy of interventions to mitigate
known disparities. The successful applicant will also join a
rapidly growing clinical research program and provide medical
insight and knowledge to a team of clinical research coordinators
working on clinical cardiovascular device trials.
* Specialists appointed at the Associate rank must possess a
master's degree (or equivalent degree) or five to ten years of
experience in the relevant specialization. Appointees at the
Associate level should have significant record of academic
accomplishment including published or in-press publication, and a
demonstrated record of University and/or public service.
Additionally, appointees at the Associate level will provide
considerable independence in planning and execution of
* Post-graduate training in field.
* Independent specialized research.
* Management experience.
Appointees in the Specialist series will be expected to engage in
specialized research, professional activities and do not have
teaching responsibilities. Specialists are expected to use their
professional expertise to make scientific and scholarly
contributions, and may participate in University and Public
Service. Screening of applicants will begin immediately and will

be commensurate with the applicants experience and training.
