Position description

Junior Specialist - Ha Lab

The Junior Specialist will be expected to work within a team in the Head and Neck Signaling Lab at University of California, San Francisco. Our lab focuses on the molecular biology of salivary gland cancers. The candidate is to participate and present at lab meetings, to function within the group with general lab duties (molecular biology techniques such as cell culture, DNA/RNA/Protein analysis, mouse work, and other assays), and to help with ongoing and new research projects.

Required Qualifications:

* Must have a Bachelor's degree in a Science related field by the time of hire.

* Have basic lab experience.

* Must be able to work well with others, pick up new techniques easily, write and communicate effectively, and be eager to learn.

* Applicant's materials must list (pending) qualifications upon submission.

Appointees in the Specialist series will be expected to engage in specialized research, professional activities and do not have teaching responsibilities. Specialists are expected to use their professional expertise to make scientific and scholarly contributions, and may participate in University and Public Service. Screening of applicants will begin immediately and will continue as needed throughout the recruitment period. Salary and rank will be commensurate with the applicants experience and training.
