Program Manager - Genomics Lab Platform

Location: San Francisco Bay Area

Hybrid: 50% onsite, 50% remote

The mission of the laboratory platform team is to enable sustainable, scalable growth while delivering operational and platform excellence to our operators and patients. As a program manager, you will play a strategic role in defining how we continue to scale our labs as well as defining the standard for modern laboratory systems. You will work directly with the technical teams who build and support automated molecular laboratory workflows. You will collaborate with teams who develop assays, perform data analysis, and build software to support workflow execution. This is a unique opportunity to drive scalability and growth of the Invitae platform across multiple locations while working with a highly talented multi-disciplinary team.

What You'll Do:

  • Lead multi-disciplinary projects that enable new features and functionality of our genomics laboratory automation platform
  • Work closely with laboratory automation engineers and their collaborators including molecular biologists, software engineers, and laboratory operations staff, on projects ranging in scope from robotic workcell development, to evaluation of new lab instrumentation, to deployment into operational environments
  • Develop an understanding of our robotic systems, standardize the documentation of the lab workflows, and contribute to the planning of strategic initiatives
  • Drive progress toward milestones and measure success against team and company objectives
  • Communicate progress toward our goals to leadership and stakeholders
  • Within the first year of joining our team, your contributions will accelerate implementation of new laboratory automation and specimen logistics workflows What You Bring:
    • Bachelor's of Science and 5 years of total relevant experience or significant experience in lieu of a degree
    • Self-starter who is organized and highly detail oriented
    • Demonstrated ability to support or lead projects to completion
    • Experience gathering technical and functional requirements and applying methodologies to make trade-offs that meet company and customer needs
    • Exceptional communication (written and verbal) and organizational skills with the ability to present technical and functional requirements in a concise manner to varied audiences Preferred Experience:
      • 3+ years of experience as a business analyst or similar role practiced at requirement gathering and workflow diagramming
      • Previous experience with requirement gathering for laboratory workflows or automated workflows

        This salary range is an estimate, and the actual salary may vary based on a wide range of factors, including your skills, qualifications, experience and location. This position is eligible for benefits including but not limited to medical, dental, vision, life insurance, disability coverage, flexible paid time off, Spring Health, Carrot Fertility, participation in a 401k with company match, ESPP, and many other additional voluntary benefits.         California Pay Range

        $91,900 - $114,800 USD
