Research Associate / Senior Research Associate - Cell Therapy
Serotiny invents multi-domain proteins for gene and cell therapies
including genome editors, and chimeric antigen receptors. These
novel synthetic proteins are central to cutting edge therapeutics,
providing enhanced safety and efficacy through advanced control
methods and engineered functionalities. We strategically couple
synthetic biology with data science and machine learning to
generate large-scale protein libraries for high-throughput
screening and analysis.Serotiny is looking for a RA/SRA who is
excited to work closely with a team of protein engineers and cell
biologists to build out and deploy Serotiny's high-throughput
methods to characterize and develop cutting edge therapies. The
position will contribute towards the development of a novel
platform to generate and characterize CAR immune cells for solid
tumor indications. Role
- Execute cell therapy projects with supervision from senior team
members
- Conduct hands-on laboratory work to evaluate Serotiny's clonal
constructs in primary cells using a variety of in vitro assays
- Manufacture genetically engineered immune cells and evaluate
cell function in vitro
- Perform downstream functional assays including cytotoxicity and
proliferation assays
- Run multicolor flow cytometry panels to interrogate immune cell
phenotypes
- Analyze data and present results to team members and group
leaders
- Maintain outstanding electronic lab notebook records
- Participate in team meetings and provide regular oral and
written communication on all projects and milestonesQualifications
- Degree in molecular biology, cell biology, immunology,
biotechnology or related area
- Research Associate: BSc. with 0-3 years of laboratory
experience, or MSc.
- Sr. Research Associate: BSc. with > 4 years of laboratory
experience, or MSc. with > 2 years
- Proficiency with culturing mammalian cells, both primary and
immortalized
- Familiarity with cell therapy workflows: primary cell
isolation, activation, transduction, and cryopreservation
- Familiarity with immunostaining methods, flow cytometry, and
ELISA is a plus
- Experience using data analysis tools such as FlowJo and
GraphPad Prism is a plus
- Excellent organizational skills, detail oriented, and an
ability to prioritize effectively to deliver results within
reasonably established timelines
- Outstanding verbal and written communication skills
- Comfortable to work in a fast-paced startup environment and
able to adjust workload based upon changing priorities
