Job Description:
GGRC is currently hiring for a Physician role within its
Clinical Services department.This role is a part-time role working
0.5 FTE or up to 20 hours weekly providing medical evaluations as
part of the assessment process to determine eligibility for
potential clients; Additionally, the Physician provides
consultation on medical matters to Social Workers and other staff
in their on-going efforts to serve clients within the Agency's
three counties: San Francisco, Marin, and San Mateo.This on-site
role, working out of any of our three locations in San Francisco,
San Mateo, and Marin County, will require travel between
offices.Salary Range: $90,260 - $108,311 for 0.5FTE*What You'll
Do:*
- Overall evaluation of diagnosis and assessment of individuals
for eligibility purposes and level of function; Participate in
planning for appropriate client care
- Consult regarding clients' medical needs, including diagnoses,
treatment, determining interventions and oversight of
conservatorship, and other pertinent concerns.
- Serve as ambassador to all three counties within the Agency;
Actively participate in community outreach as required.
- Review records pertaining to clients' medical and developmental
history and make recommendations
- Serve as lead member of Interdisciplinary team in determining
eligibility for center services
- Counsel others as appropriate, such as clients' families, on
the medical aspects of developmental disability and care needs
- Serve as consultant on complex medical issues for continuing
cases, including the use of psychotropic medications and poly
pharmacy
- Coordinate and serve as a liaison for family and case manager
with medical/psychiatric/dental and other providers of care as
necessary
- Work closely with nurses and case management staff on the
clinical team for issues related to consent for medical
treatment/Advance directives
- Function as a liaison with the general medical
communityRequirementsWho You Are:
- Experienced physician interested in making a shift from a
direct service role to consultative role with primary
responsibility of oversight and assessment of physical health and
care of our clients; Overall evaluation of diagnosis if one exists
or level of functioning.
- Experienced physician able and interested in making a shift
from prescribing medication to making recommendations based on
overall evaluation and assessment.
- Solid understanding and breadth of experience working with
developmentally disabled individuals in all ages (children through
adulthood).
- Capable of operating with the understanding of working within
the context of a larger team, not as a private practice
clinician
- Collaborative, team player who builds partnerships based on
trust.
- Capable and willing to shift from making decisions autonomously
to a more collaborative decision-making process for the best
interest of our clients.
- Acts quickly and decisively in a crisis
- Understands and effectively reacts/adapts to multiple and
competing priorities on the job; uses knowledge and expertise to
focus on key job outcomes
- Curious and flexible in learning about what is happening now
and, in the future, within and in relation to our industry and
profession.
- Stays current with new research, approaches, policies, laws,
methods, or technologies in area of expertise
- Familiarity with Lanterman and Early Start Regulations
desired
- Familiarity with governmental and non-governmental resources
available for applicants/clients desired
- Able to shift when change occurs, provide thoughtful insight,

- Willing and comfortable to invest time to navigate through the
program to establish solid partnerships with a broad spectrum of
providers and community partners

- Experience in multi-cultural settings and or multi- lingual

- Demonstrates interest in the developmentally
disabledRequirements:
- Medical Degree (M.D.)
- Possession of a license to practice medicine in California
issued by the State Board of Medical Examiners at the time of hire
and ability to maintain license in good standing
- 2 + years in developmental disabilities or possession of MPH
and 1+ years' work with developmentally disabled and experience
managing or working with programs for developmentally disabled
- Certification or eligibility for certification by specialty
board such as Pediatrics, Internal Medicine, Neurology, Family
Practice, 2+ years post-graduate work, one of which must be in the
