You'll need to be efficient, productive, and thorough dealing with our members over the phone. You also must be able to work a flexible schedule that includes evening hours.Employees are required to have flexibility to work any of our 8-hour shift schedules during our normal business hours of 8am - 5pm. It may be necessary, given the business need, to work occasional overtimePrimary Responsibilities:

  • Manage administrative intake of members
  • Work with hospitals, clinics, facilities, and the clinical team to manage requests for services from members and/or providers
  • Process incoming and outgoing referrals, and prior authorizations, including intake, notification, and census roles
  • Assist the clinical staff with setting up documents/triage cases for Clinical Coverage Review
  • Handle resolution/inquiries from members and/or providers
  • To maintain and retrieve Radiology files and result reports
  • To provide Radiology receptionist duties at desk and telephone
  • Performs patient scheduling and completion of all demographic and protocol-specific information necessary for a complete scheduled examYou'll be rewarded and recognized for your performance in an environment that will challenge you and give you clear direction on what it takes to succeed in your role as well as provide development for other roles you may be interested in.Required Qualifications:
    • High School Diploma / GED (or higher)
    • 2+ years of customer service experience
    • 2+ years clerical or secretarial experience in a health care setting with computer-based familiarity.
    • Basic to intermediate skill in word processing
    • Knowledge of medical terminology
    • Ability to learn and operate any and all computerized radiology information systems
    • Ability to operate standard business machines, such as personal computer, fax machines and copier
    • Ability to work any of our 8-hour shift schedules during our normal business hours of 8am - 5pm. It may be necessary, given the business need, to work occasional overtime
    • Full COVID-19 vaccination is an essential requirement of this role. UnitedHealth Group will adhere to all federal, state and local regulations as well as all client requirements and will obtain necessary proof of vaccination prior to employment to ensure compliance. Preferred Qualifications:
      • Healthcare background
      • Ability to travel 100% of the time
      • Completion of business school or related training, including computer courses
      • EPIC experience
      • Experience working within the health care Industry and with health care insurance
      • Experience working in a hospital, physician's office or medical clinic setting
      • A clerical or administrative support background
      • Experience working in a call center
      • Experience with Microsoft Word (creating, editing, saving, formatting), Microsoft Excel (create and edit spreadsheets) and Microsoft Outlook (compose and respond to email)Soft Skills:
        • Ability to multi-task, working in multiple systems at a time
        • Demonstrated interpersonal skills to deal effectively and courteously with a diverse group of internal and external visitors and callers
        • Ability to organize and prioritize multiple tasks despite frequent interruptions
        • Ability to work collaboratively with team members, hospital staff, physicians, and outside agencies
