POSITION SUMMARY: The Vice President Sales – Mining is a new position at the company and will report to the GM of Company’s Mining Business Unit. Fundamentally, this leader will be responsible for driving all net new logo capture and sales within the mining vertical. This “hands-on” leader must be equally comfortable both originating new opportunities and managing key opportunities through to closure. From day one and working with the Head of Revenue this leader will be responsible for developing a team of hunters. As the team grows, this leader will work to understand individual strengths and developmental areas, as well as dive deeply into Company’s business model and value selling practices to develop methods to accelerate and improve our go-to-market and new client capture capabilities. ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES Own and deliver the Mining new business sales target. Build and lead an aggressive and highly effective team of hunters focused on delivering new logo sales in mining. Deliver sustainable year-on-year growth. Work closely with the Head of Revenue and the Marketing Director to drive sales enablement, demand generation and qualified pipeline of opportunities. Drive large deals with major clients that require multiple stakeholders to buy-off and ultimately approve above $500k of ARR over 3+ year terms. REQUIRED BACKGROUND AND EXPERIENCE: We are seeking a Vice President Sales – Mining who is inspired and inspiring, with the passion, gravitas and track record of success to effectively lead the creation of this critical new business sales function inside our organization. This individual will be a high energy, exceptionally strong communicator, quantitative leader and masterful executor who can deliver extraordinary and predictable results within a growth company. The ideal candidate will have had prior experience leading a team of hunters and delivering tremendous results in a sales leadership role in a high-growth SaaS environment. Of overarching importance, this leader must be a serial overachiever, who is a smart, strategic and tenacious business builder who can see the huge opportunity Company has at its doorstep and can build a hunting sales organization that enables significant growth whilst delivering near-term growth as the team develops. The Vice President Sales – Mining will be a modern-day strategic thinker well versed in the most effective systems, processes and strategies that deliver predictable results. Excellence in forecasting, pipeline management, opportunity definition and consistent attainment at or above target will be among the areas where this leader will shine. Deep domain expertise in mining and the extended mining value chain is essential. “MUST HAVE” SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE: Deep mining industry expertise. Track record of achieving or exceeding new business sales goals in a complex, technology- based solution, preferably SaaS. Prior experience building and leading a highly effective team of hunters driving new logo capture. Experience driving large, complex, multi-year SaaS contracts. A culture builder centered around new business capture. Drives all activities and rewards toward closing new accounts. Rock solid sales process skills. A leader who defines and drives sales activities that are data and analytically based that deliver results. Is constantly looking for ways to improve and optimize sales activities based on market feedback and testing new methods. Sales forecasting mastery that provides accuracy on both a monthly and quarterly basis. Super hands-on in the field working with each of his/her sales team members to help accelerate the close of deals. Undergraduate degree is required and a Graduate degree such as an MBA is desirable.
