We are on this journey together, learning and growing ' a craft worth perfecting, a path that matters.ResponsibilitiesReporting to the VP of Coffeebars, the Sr. Director of Coffeebar Operations is responsible for the strategic development, deployment and maintenance of our retail operating policies, programs and systems. You with ensure that field operating procedures enable our Coffeebars to effectively execute on business goals, customer metrics and employee support needs. You will continuously innovate with actionable tools that drive improved operating leverage and efficiency.



  • Owns store operating policies and procedures, field communications, Training support and general Coffeebar operations
  • Works with retail leadership team to establish and drive strategy for the annual retail implementation calendar
  • Provides the leadership, direction and support necessary to enable budget results and operating plan goals in retail
  • Oversees communications for all Peet's retail locations and field teams. This includes maintenance of initiative planning and workload field calendars to plan and balance field workload. Manages, edits and approves all field facing communication.
  • Lead a team of Communication and General Retail Operations projects
  • Primary lead to review/approve store layouts for Store Development projects in partnership with field
  • Lead liason from field to corporate facilitating and driving feedback to/from field operations in order to ensure performance and continual development of company goals
  • Leads the appropriate testing, pilots and roll-out plans for retail initiatives
  • Collaborates with cross-functional partners to translate business strategies into executable operating plans for the field
  • Primary liaison between operations and IT in scoping retail systems implementation
  • Ensures system compliance with company policies and with federal, state, and local regulations that impact Peet's daily retail business operations
  • Collaborates with retail training team to design and implement training programs covering all aspects of retail operations as appropriate
  • Continuously improves the relevance and credibility of the retail balance score card
  • Maintains working knowledge of benchmarking best operations practices in the retail marketplace
  • Create, own, manage and oversee team projects including project plans to track projects from design to implementation to maintenance
  • Conduct presentations of individual projects or initiatives as required by leadership


    Qualifications




    • 10 years in retail or specialty store management; including multi-unit management
    • Demonstrated, outstanding skills in successfully building teams and partnerships to influence and drive results. Successful in negotiating and/or influencing across all levels in order to gain cooperation and successfully implement projects.
    • Proven leadership abilities, including ability to think strategically, develop operational strategies and determine long-term impact of decisions on the business
    • Excellent verbal and written communication and presentation skills
    • Passion for coffee, tea, and people
    • Pragmatic, confident and committed to actionable timelines
    • A true operator, comfortable with hands on, obsessed with efficiency and credible with our field organization
    • Ability to assess, develop and lead people/teams
    • A creative and conceptual thinker, not afraid to question and take risks
    • Strong project management and problem solving skills
    • Must have demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects from creation to implementation while concurrently overseeing projects managed by individual team members.
    • Ability to plan and implement strategic vision
    • Excellent written and oral communication skills

    • Ability to build relationships and influence across the organization
    • Excellent organization, planning, time-management and prioritization skills
